This strong, Baltic-style Porter has a rich, velvety mouthfeel with notes of bakers chocolate and molasses.

Sample on tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Served too cold. Black colour, beige head. Moderate aroma of roasted malts and dust. Roasty flavour, notes of liquorice and coffee, medium sweet.

Brownish black body with a tan head. Dark chocolate kissed with booze, raisin, molasses, and toffee in the nose. Taste adds robust licorice to the molasses and dark fruit, not as sweet though, providing slight coffee grounds and earth instead. Feel is warm to hot, chewy, large yet not overwhelming heavy.

22oz bomber courtesy of ovaltine. Bottled January 15, 2019.
Poured into a tulip glass, this was a dark brown, taking on a mahogany color when held up to light. Decent sized khaki head, lots of lace.
A bit musty in the nose, initially blotting out all else. There's a hoppy scent reminiscent of juniper and a thin, cocoa-like scent once things warm.
Toffee and a nutty roastiness (but not to a great extent) vie with a bitter, prickly hoppiness for dominant flavors, with the latter winning out.
Fairly thin bodied for the style.
Oddest Baltic porter I have ever had. Way too hoppy, and with a strange bitterness that seems somewhere between juniper and medicinal. No sign of the relatively high alcohol, but not much else to commend it.

Bottled 3/4/14; drank 3/29/14 @ Chrispex.
Brown liquid.
Khaki head; minimal lace.
Milk chocolate & oats in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
An oatmeal stout vibe, with a cloying finish. Add in a hint of pickle juice; just not very good.

22 ounce bottle, bottled on 01-15-19. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a dark mahogany brown/reddish color with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. The brew smells like caramel, molasses, toffee, bready malt and a bit of chocolate. Taste is similar to the aroma, with caramel, toffee, bready malt, earthy hops, molasses, dark fruit and chocolate flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit creamy and coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a decent enough brew overall but for some reason when drinking it, it seems more like a Barleywine to me than a Baltic Porter. With that being said, I liked it and it's certainly worth a try. $10.98 a bomber.

22oz bottle. Poured out an opaque, black color with ruby highlights and a cream colored head. It smelled of subtle dried dark fruits, chocolate, coffee and toffee. Sweet chocolate, toffee and a strong roasted taste.

Look- copper in color and does not form much head on the pour
Smell- malty and roasty with a hint of chocolate
Taste- drinks like a very light imperial stout. The Maltiness comes through first with undertones of chocolate, coffee, and caramel
Feel- very easy going down but is a little heavy on the stomach
Overall- not a bad beer at all. If you feel that imperial stouts are too much but you might enjoy a lighter version, then I would recommend this.

The pour is a pretty mahogany brown with a sudsy tan head. It’s beautiful, but the look is more of a barleywine than a porter, IMHO. The nose, though, resides in Porterville, with chocolate and roasted coffee notes up front, and sweet molasses and stone fruit notes mixed in.
The chocolate and roasted coffee notes are also forward on the taste, but the molasses flavors elevate this a couple of steps, IMHO. There’s also some stone fruit, which brightens this a bit and doesn’t allow it to get too sweet.

Perhaps my judgement is clouded because I drank this right after a Baba Yaga barrel-aged stout from Ethereal...but this tastes like nothing. I'm going to have to give it another go.

22oz bottled 1/15/19 (21 days ago) poured into a tulip pint glass at fridge temp, no ABV listed on bottle. The beer pours bright medium brown with chestnut highlights and sticky mocha colored head. The head recedes to cap and leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is earthy with mild toffee notes. Much less roasted than most examples. The taste is led by big earthy hops with a subdued smokey chocolate finish. The bitterness is medium. The mouthfeel is medium to thin bodied with just less than medium carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, good but not $11/22oz bottle good. Really light on the roast flavor, color etc. I would have never picked this out as a Baltic Porter blind.
