Apocalypse CowApocalypse Cow

Brewed by:
3 Floyds Brewing Co.
Indiana, United States

Style: American Double / Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 11.00%

Availability: Summer

Notes / Commercial Description:
9.5-11.0% ABV, 100 IBUs - This complex double India pale ale has an intense citrus and floral hop aroma balanced by a velvety malt body which has been augmented with lactose milk sugar. With this different take on an IPA we have brewed an ale that is both pleasing to drink and, once again, “not normal.” Cheers! June release.

A: typical Double Imperial Ipa, not as hazy as people lead on, but its a nice looking light copper color with a 2 finger foamy, soapy head.

S: this beer smells a lot like Alpha King with lots of Lemon peel and citrus notes, i didnt get a lot of tropical fruits like i thought i would..there is some mango and a touch of pineapple.

T: This to me is an imperial version of Alpha King...I get a lot of lemon peel and strong citrus notes with a little bit of Mango. The lactose in this beer is not a game changer at all. The sweetness does come through on the back end of this beer mixed with the bitter finish which makes for an interesting experience , but thats about it.

M: This beer has a more than medium mouth feel but not quite full bodied. The lactose does thicken the beer up, which i like , but the carbonation almost wants to negate the effects in a way..was expecting way more.
O:im glad i revisited this beer, its truly amazing...i was going through a lot when i first tried this beer and my mind was wayyy out there!!!! this beer is delicious.
