Serving Type - 22oz bottle

Appearance - Light straw yellow with tan tint. 1/2 inch white foamy head with decent lacing.

Smell - Floral fruits, grassy, lemon, pineapple, coriander, banana, sugary yeasts. Light bready malts and some added spices.

Taste - Starts off with a very sweet sugary yeasty flavor. Plenty of floral fruits like orange, lemon and peach. Bready, caramel malts add more flavor along with some balance. Apple, bubblegum and cherry are also tasted. More so a triple then a saison in flavor. Banana comes out strong in the finish.

Motuhfeel - Light and sweet, floral fruits and sugars coat the tongue. Palate picks up caramel malts, spices and lemon. Aftertaste is caramel/toffee, lemon and bubblegum.

Overall - Its pretty good, Its a little to light and thin in the flavor. The sweet yeasts add lots of sweet flavor, along with the malt backbone to provide the main flavor. Tastes much more like a triple. Solid but not world class that usually FFF makes.

T: very sweet and dry; lacks the citrus notes that are present in the nose; coriander seeds; mild bitterness on the end

A - Golden, hazy, light white head - dissipates to the rim quickly

S - light lemon grass, wheat, bread, orange peel

T - Sweet candy, pineapple, slightly booze, carmel.

M - Medium body, not particularly frothy, sweetness dominates.

O - A bit sweet for a saison and for my taste personally. Actually let me rephrase that, I don't like the rock candy added and the more of this beer I sip - I really dont like it.

Served in a tulip glass

It is a hazy golden color with a few specks of yeast floating in it. It is topped with a modest white head.

The smell is sweet caramel malt and bread at first. The spices take a while to make their presence known.

The taste is similar to the smell, but there is some spiciness in the finish. The spiciness grows as I drink. I even get a little pear, but the spiciness is a lot more pronounced now than when I first poured it.

Moderate mouthfeel with some prickly carbonation.

This beer changed a lot from the first pour to the end. It tastes more like a Belgian pale ale than a saison.

Thanks, Todd. Poured out of a 22oz bottle into several wine glasses. Review is from my notes.

Pours an amber pale color complete with a good amount of cloudiness, filled with lots of tiny molecules of sediment floating about, complete with a frothy, foamy white head about 2 fingers high. This definitely is an ode to the classic saison appearance, and as a fan of all rustic-looking beers, FFF did a pretty good job with this one here, except for the fact that isn't so good at maintaining head retention overall. Still, the amount of bubbles and sediment are exactly what I'm looking for with these beers, and complete with the good lacing, it's awesome looking saison.

The aroma is much lighter that I expected, but it is still filled with all kinds of surprises that reveal themselves more as it warms up. First, some of the obvious notes - wet, damp straw, lemon peel, apricots, wet stone, banana-like funky notes, and crisp, sweetened grains with dried grassy hops. Then, something very interesting happens - this turns into something very floral and aromatic, with notes of all kinds of flowers and spices. White rose pedals, violets, lavender, light clove, and light rosemary. I've never had notes this predominant of roses in a beer before, and I really love how refreshing and breezy it is. Not as much funk or sourness than I expected, but mix of flavors is really unique here.

The flavor turns out to be considerably less floral and aromatic, but it does climb towards a degree of funkiness and rustic flavors that the farmhouse style embodies. There's a burst of wet straw, grassiness, under-ripe nectarines, and passion fruit, and then there's notes of funkiness common in cheese rinds, as well as that damp, musty aroma you find in caves or basements of old houses. Otherwise, it's crisp and refreshing, with the golden grains and dried, slightly herbal hops coming through. Not as citrusy or floral as the aroma, but it still was pretty easy to drink through. Thick and juicy, but could use more carbonation to increase the state of liveliness. This is solid otherwise.

Well, it looks like FFF CAN deliver a slightly funky product after all. It's definitely one of the least hoppy offerings I've had from them, but it was without a doubt flavorful and in particular was great to drink outside on a nice day, as I did. The floral notes are fantastic on this, and it's worth buying for that reason alone. The flavor is less complex overall, but it drinks quite well. It's a good way to take a departure from their hoppier offerings yet still get something that's complex in its own way.

I agree with the reviewer who said this is more of a Tripel than a Saison. This is not a Saison to me. No where near the class of Saison's from Hill Farmstead and the like. Even Jolly Pumpkin is quite a bit better than this. I never regret trying a new beer, especially from a place like FFF, but this is not one I will try again. Considered pouring it out even.

a great beer, but to me more of a tripel than a saison, with all the malt sweetness, so maybe more of a line bender than anything. who cares really, taste is king. it pours a clear golden honey color, we have seen this before in the globe, with a half inch of lace. the nose is very sweet, big malts, but on the lighter color and taste spectrum. did they really add rock candy to the kettle? if they did, I can smell and taste it, if they didn't, I still think I can. light herbal notes in nose and taste too, like green tea, but not bitter or quite as earthy. more of a grass vibe. very full body, ultra sweet, sticky almost, but the Belgian yeast makes this awesome. it gives it a slightly dry finish for all the sugar, and it unites that tea element perfectly. glad I had folks around to share this with, but it is a really different beer that I enjoyed a lot. 27 bucks for a bottle at revolution brewing in Chicago, but id say it was worth that markup for a first timer. three floyds are known for there hop use, but this is up to par with some of their better known beers in my opinion.

Pours a light pale yellow color with a smaller white head that falls fast. Only sparse lace left behind.

Aroma is light fruity lots of apple on light wheat base little hints of lemon and some light spice. Some very light spice hints not much funk or barnyard notes as most saison's show.

Taste is light wheat malts good dose of apple with hints of pear and lemon. Finish is lingering tart fruits yeast notes and spice. Some light saison flavors that didn't show in the nose but over all not as good as I was expecting considering the brewer.

Mouthfeel is light pretty mellow carbonation considering most saison's are peppier. But i did enjoyed it.

Overall eh not that great wouldn't recommend if your wanting a good saison, but not really bed just not up to par on whats available out there.

A: Cloudy yellow. a small amount of head.

S: Peaches! Some spice and a lot of chamomile. Citrus and lemon rind with a huge hit of hawaiian bread. Some rotten fruit, almost like a dried grape. Pretty funky actually. Reminds me of cantaloupe a little bit as strange as that sounds.

T: Toffee right at the tip of the tongue. Then comes a wave of hawaiian bread followed by banana ester a, craisins and chamomile. Lots of tea like qualities in here. Citrus on the tip of your tongue. A stale fruit on the back end reminiscent of an english cider. A spicy finish.

M: Light to medium bodied. very dry finish.

O: This is a strange brew. Its fruity, dry, malty and very beady. Its interesting and funky, Not my favorite representation of the style. /79

Trade from BrewMane. Thanks! Pour is orange golden and very clear with nearly no head at all...interesting for the style. Aroma is strong orange, pear, apple, honey, and only a hint of yeast funk. Flavor is candy sweet apple honey flavor, thick mouthfeel for style, but with light effervescent carbonation. Lingering carbonation prickle and honey sweetness. A bit dank and syrupy. Decent beer but heavy for this style. Worth a try.

A: Pours a perfect translucent gold with only a tiny bit of pure white head. The foam doesn't take long to settle into a super thin ring along the edges of the glass. There is almost no lacing as it drinks.

S: The nose is apple juice and peppercorns. Yup. Thant's about it.

T: This beer starts out wet and sweet with big apple juice notes that coat the palate completely. Directly following, I get a big burst of peppercorn spice. The flavors mingle in the middle, but as the beer moves to the back end, the apple juice notes return and dominate the pepper. However, there is lingering pepper after the beer is gone.

M: Light bodied beer. It's wet and refrshing to start, jam packed with spice in the middle, and finishes smooth. Lingering pepper flavor and heat afterward.

O: Good beer. I lover peppercorn beers, so I might rate this a little high. Legitimately not for the faint of heart. If you don't like pepper, don't buy this beer. It's basically apple juice and pepper. Seriously.

a clean light golden pour with a finger of bright white head which slowly dissipated. tons of carbonation bubbles shooting straight up the middle. smells of black pepper, flowers, honey, coriander. strange scent, smells like rain .. i know that sounds weird. tastes like applesauce, black pepper, belgian yeast (slightly bready with hints of banana and spicy pepper).. one of the weirdest but tastiest saisons i've had. medium body with a high amount of carbonation. very refreshing.. the zesty pepper flavor keeps you sipping on it, though it is a lighter medium body and very refreshing.

a really strange, yet nice saison.

22oz bottle from the Three Floyds brew pub (Munster, IN). 10.00. No bottling info but this is a March release. Served in a Terrapin goblet.

Pours a hazy golden straw yellow with a finger and a half near white head. Fades quickly and leaves almost no lace.

Smells musty, earthy, yeasty with a little bit of spiced fruit.

A sweet honey note leads the taste and fades in and out of the other flavors of hay, pepper, bannana, apple, flower pedal, musty yeast, vague citrus, grassy, earthy spice and a little kick of booze. An interesting blend.

Medium, approaching full body with faint carbonation. Slightly syrupy with a musty sweet dry finish.

I'm pretty sure I can count in one hand the saisons I've tried but this one stands out as different. Sweeter, thicker and less carbonated than I expect. Still enjoyable to me.

Pours hazy yellowish orange with a bubbly single finger head. Funky Belgian smell, some straw, some orange. Taste is a lot like the smell, lots of Belgian yeast, some sweet orange, dry straw, slight hop presence. The texture is nice, good carbonation, not too thin. Overall I really liked this for a warm day, it's got some funk, nice Belgian yeast taste, slight sweetness, but does leave a dry bitter aftertaste.

Having never heard of Rabbid Rabbit, this will be a fun review. I love everything I have had from FFF so far, and I am very curious how a saison will be from them.

A- An aggressive pour from a 22oz bomber leads to virtually no head. Beer pours a slightly hazy dark gold almost orange, but with only a wisp of an offwhite head. No retention and spotty lacing. Weakest saison I have ever seen. Might have a flat dud here. Review as is though.

S- Moist, spicy funk with Belgian yeast. Papayas come to mind. Slight herb and peppery phenols. Odor is strong, but more musty than crisp. Doesn't seem to resemble that of most saisons that I have had.

T- Interesting. Doesn't seem to follow the nose all that well, but I'm not real sad about it. Some of the spice remains, but a lot of tart pleasantly comes through. Apples flavor. Smooth with a warm phenolic layer in the throat. More complex than nose indicates. Hops are more subtle than expected. Sweet for the style. Saison...no. Tasty...yes.

M- Again, shocked at the mild, check that...its basically absent. Have to knock the rating due to the style. Tends to drink a little heavier because of it.

O- Taste was really quite nice and not indicative of the rating. Really surprised that a brewery of this quality would miss so badly on some of the key components of the style. Not that it was a bad beer (it wasn't), it is just a poor example of a saison.

Appearance - Hazy gold color. Less than a 1/2 finger of light foam head remains after a minute. Splotchy lacing.

Smell - Immediately got straw and some hints of white grape.

Taste - Straw, yeast, malt, little bit of funk, little bit of spice. Unique, but not really my thing.

Mouthfeel - Medium body, medium carbonation, funky aftertaste

Overall - It was significantly better (and fresher) on draft at Dark Lord Day. This bottle wasn't that great. I'd drink it again if someone offered me a taste, but it's definitely not worth $10/bomber to me.

A- Straw yellow with a white bubbly head less than a finger tall. Head disappears almost completely.

S- Peppery and more phenolic than I expected. Slight amount of citrus, lemon with possible hints of orange. Sweet malt picks up in the middle and continues into the finish.

T- Immediate malty flavor with a crackery taste evident. Phenol taste once again comes across pronounced as the flavor turns toward the middle. In the middle, a peppery taste picks up and proceeds to the finish of the beer. The end of the beer is met with some slight bitterness and a slightly off flavor, although I cannot quite put my finger on it.

M- Medium light body with relatively low carbonation. Beer is sweeter than I expected with a saison, but does dry out towards the end.

O- A little disappointed in this beer. The taste seems slightly muddled compared to the classic aspects of the style.

Bottle poured into a tulip glass

While I was hoping for a great experience with this beer, it's just okay. Rabbid Rabbit does not have that great saison smell that lures you in nor the full flavor.

The taste falls flat. It has a bit of complexity but fades quickly and doesn't have the hoppy citrus blend I prefer.

Try a Boulevard Saison Brett, you will enjoy much more.

A hazy yellow with a nice frothy head that settles at about half a finger.

Peppery, with a hint of citrus.

Pepper taste confirmed mostly at front, ending with a squeeze of lemon and some mellow malt.

Light, crisp, and refreshing. For a beer like this, I kind of wish it would not linger quite as long on the palate.

A wonderful saison fit for a hot day.

Served on tap in a pint glass. At $4 a pint which was a great price.
If you take the Saison Dupont as the definition of a saison (which I do), this beer IS NOT A SAISON.
a- Great look.
s- fruity,spicy. A little citrusy (lemony) and an overall smell similar to a cheap litchi liquor. Really weird for a saison.
t- Same as smell. A weird sweet litchi flavor. Nothing really of a saison. Not terrible, but not really pleasant to my taste.
m- a little too sweet (not attenuated enough) to my taste.
overall: doesn't really have anything in common with a traditional saison. The beer is not dry enough and the flavors sweet flavors. The fruitiness/spiciness is really too present and on the chemical side (to my taste). It almost taste like someone poured a little bit a of cheap litchi liquor/flavor into a beer.
Not a bad beer, but not great. And NOTHING LIKE A SAISON (flavor, smell and mouthfeel).

Just for the information, the Saison DuPont has no spices, no sugar. It's 100% pils malt, continental hops and yeast. Everything comes from the yeast (even the high attenuation). It's dry and highly carbonated.

22oz bomber poured into chalice/goblet glass.

Pours a very hazy golden straw. Honestly this is my first Saiaon so do t know if thy all smell like this but there is a notable funk to the aroma. Like lots of fuzzy little fruits were left out to rot then scooped up and put in a kettle. A little sweet, but mostly funk.

I really don't know where to begin with the taste. I've had really flat old macro largers with this same taste. Nothing jumps out. Some pepper, some apple, and some slight banana. It has a certain wheat ale feel to it. It's is nice on the palate but that's about the best thing going for it. I love Three Floyd's, their seasonals (most of what we get in Ohio) really disappoint me most of the time.

2nd 3F Beer I've ever had. 22 Oz. Bomber

A - Cloudy, somewhat dense yellow-orange color with little to no head, very, very bubbly.

S - Nice nose for style, spicy, lemon zest scents.

T - Spice flavor up front with some banana and clove, nice spice, yet still crisp and refreshing.

M - Very carbonated, nice mouth-feel.

O - Solid beer, would drink again, but highly overpriced at $10 per bomber. Not a huge fan of Saison ales but it was a nice change up and the anticipation of 3F beer always makes for a good time. It is definitely not your typical ale and has some distinguished flavors, well worth a try.

A: Hazy gold, not much head, *very* light lacing.

S: Almost none. If I sniff really hard I can smell peaches somewhere in the distance.

T: Not like any saison I've ever had -- no fruit, no tartness, and all the wrong sort of spicing. That would be okay if I liked the taste (I'd just stop thinking of it as a saison and enjoy it for what it was), but I don't; the spice tastes almost like black pepper, which I like, but not in beer.

M: Pleasant enough in its own right but too thick and heavy for a saison. Very low carbonation.

O: Disappointing. I like some of Three Floyds' other beers but this one just doesn't do it for me. It's not a saison, it doesn't know what it wants to be instead, and whatever it is, I don't care for it.

A: Hazy pale yellow in color. Forms a smallish, bubbly, white head that reduces fairly quickly to just the faintest ring around the edge. No lacing.

S: Smell is interesting. Fruity. Very fruity, but more like a fruity pebbles or juicy fruit than anything resembling actual fruit. Maybe a bit of peach or apricot. Sweet. Bubblegum.

T: Taste is a blend of mild sweetness and mild tartness with a good dose of spice. Almost reminiscent of baking spice (clove, nutmeg), but the apricot fruitiness balances it out.

M: On the lighter side of medium. Spicy on the tongue. Low bitterness. Lower carbonation.

O: Not so sure about this one. Not necessarily a bad beer, but in terms of Saisons and Farmhouses, there are a lot better beers out there at a lot better price.

A-Cloudy yellow orange, nice carbonation, one finger head that doesn't last.

S-Orange and lemon, chamomile, thyme tad bit of wheat.

T-Very grassy with herbal spices. Must be the chamomile. Not much bitterness, some wheat.

M-Light some carbonation and a nice dryness to the finish.

O-Balance isn't where it should be, the chamomile is too dominate.
