A dry and stupendously-hopped, medium-bodied Imperial India Pale Ale brewed with Canadian 2-Row malt, Dextrose Sugar and lots of American hops. Arctic Panzer Wolf has superior aromas of marmalade, white peach, pine and apricot, all mixed with intense American hop bitterness.

Smell is a strong, citrusy scent, like a ripe orange. Flavor continues with a refreshing wave of citrus, candied lemon, pineapple, a crisp malty backbone and a refreshing bitter bite on the back end. Great IPA, refreshing, decently sweet with a refreshingly bitter pine aftertaste.

From a 16oz can dated "PKGD ON" 12/03/25 into a weizen glass.

Pours an ever-so-slightly hazy orange with about one finger of white head. Decent retention and lacing.

Aromas of grapefruit, pine, orange and a touch of apricot.

Quite bitter tasting. Pine, resin, grapefruit. Alcohol is present but not a deterrent to drinking.

Medium to full-bodied, slightly sticky mouthfeel, Bitter, boozy aftertaste.

Nice sipper of a beer.

S: pineapple and orange zest;

T: balanced between pineapple, orange zest, and vanilla; moderate bitterness at the end;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish; hides the ABV well;

O: interesting;

Lightly hazed amber appearance under an average size, large bubbled, off white head that left scattered lacing. Some tropical fruit and pitted fruit spread throughout the aroma before a little bit of pine snuck in. Hop and fruit focused flavor. Bitterness was evident but not intrusive. ABV impact arrives late. Well carbonated, medium-to-full bodied mouthfeel. A pleasant, competitively priced, IIPA.

Took a 40 minute drive to grab some Sabertooth Bezerker. They had this one and Double Nugget Nectar, as well. Score.
4pk box stamped 11/27/24.
Poured into my Alchemist Spiegelau glass, as the snow was falling in the early evening. I was as excited to try this, as I was by the phenomenal can artwork. Could be a High on Fire album cover. Metals!
Beautiful clear amber with 2 fingers white frothy head, which lingers to soft scattered pillows, and also sticks to side of glass.
Aroma assault attack as I cracked the can and poured. Dank and resinous. The beast beckons....
Taste hits hard with awesome old school aggressive hop bitterness. Pithy, candied orange. Pine and resin. Sweet nectar.
This wolf hits hard; but it's a hit and run, not a sustained attack,
The body and mouthfeel are surprisingly thin. The use of dextrose Jacks up the abv (which is deceptively hidden), but a little more malt would give this beast some more 'meat.'
Overall, very good, but, while the killer artwork image instills terror, this beast is a little too tame.
To quote from the S/T MSG album: "I want more....I gotta have more."

*Edit 2/20/25: 2nd can poured with much more sediment. Taste is improved. More aggressive and lasting/lingering flavor. Taste: 4.5

Clear, amber color. Medium-sized, white head. Pine resin and caramel malt in the aroma. Hoppy taste with a strong malty backbone. Strong hoppy bitterness. Good, but not as good as some other IPAAs from this brewery.

16oz can. Bottom stamp is 'PKGD ON 11/27/24'.
Deep gold colored body with a hanging particle shimmer. One finger of off white head and this becomes islands and a ring. Leaves behind some scattered small spots of lacing.
Aroma is mango, sweet orange, pineapple, apricot, and malt.
Taste is candy orange, pineapple, mango, lemon, apricot, and malt. Has a dank moment within the sweetness. Aftertaste stretches into sweet malt and citrus.
Medium mouthfeel. Bitterness adds a backbone but does not burn. Good carbonation.
Citrus, tropical fruit goodness.

Canned 11/27/24, into a wide wine glass.

Pours a deep, clear orange with some nice white foam. Aroma is heavy on the grapefruit, some apricot, and a lot of caramel malt. Flavor is heavy on the grapefruit again, more apricot, and then heavy bitterness. There's a fair amount of sweetness though that I didn't expect and it's one of the least bitter 3Floyds DIPAs. There's a lot of resin and some pine but not nearly as much as others. Finishes bittersweet, medium bodied.

Overall the least angry 3Floyds DIPA and not my favorite. Slapasaurus and Permanent Funeral are way better, but it's still good.

16 oz. can filled 3 weeks ago pours a slightly hazy orange/amberr and gets clearer as it warms up. You can smell this one as you pour it. Aroma has grapefruit rind, lemon, pineapple, and pine, but also some sweet malts in the aftertaste. Taste is quite bitter but not as punishing as I thought it might be. Body is medium to full This is a classic, dank, hoppy DIPA that Three Floyds fans anticipate each year.

I fucking love that they're continuing these resurrections, because this definitely deserves a revisit. Never would I have guessed I'd grow fond of these types of IPAS, but my original pre-2015 review of 2.69, still shown below for all our amusement, makes clear that my wittle baby palate couldn't handle the abrasive onslaught this one brought.

Appearance here at the tail end of 2024 is mostly clear orange, but for some sediment recalling the old school from whence it came, all under an off-white spongy head of moderate height.

Still unabashedly boldly exploding of hop shrapnel in a world oversaturated with thick and juicy sweet haze, flaming pine sap meets some orange pith and reduction before a bit of a weedy, allium-influenced exhale. There too a bit of dry biscuit crops up, though faintly so.

It's bitter as all hell, but somehow still enjoyable.

---

Having this fresh on draft at the brewpub was a different experience than the first time I had it, at which point I did not like it at all. Either way, it's still a very aggressive IPA despite the not quite 'triple' status of the ABV.

Orange hue with a creamy head and smoothly fluid lacing.

Powerful hoppy aromas of fresh orange zest are featured prominently.

Some nutty, maple and caramel like malts come in to support the heavily bitter orange rind that comes over from the aroma. It's nice at least that there is that linear flavor profile from those hops coming over from the nose.

Boozy heat rises up through the nose, which in addition to the overwhelming bitterness, can become absolutely devastating to the palate after only a few minutes.
