There is an etching on the shoulder of the bottle: "BOTTLED ON 10-02-23 4808"
There is also a code on the bottom of the bottle:

Appearance: The body is a golden amber color and it is hazy. Very fuzzy shadows are visible through the glass but shapes are indistinguishable. It has a very short-lived head that is off-white in color and slightly creamy textured. It fades out to a ring. No lacing.

Aroma: It has a souring fruit aroma with hints of freshly cut apples and pears. It smells pleasant.

Taste: Up front there is a typical fruity tart flavor with what tastes a bit like strawberry. Some urea character towards the center of the palate. A bit of pear in the middle but mostly just tartness.

Mouthfeel: It has a lingering tartness on the palate. It is a puckering and slow-drinking beer. It is a bit difficult to pinpoint a body on this beer because as soon as it hits the tongue it starts to curl it, but it feels like it's medium to medium-light.

Overall: Interestingly the label has some text that states that this is "A BLAZE OF STRAWBERRY SUPERACTION!" and it does have some strawberry flavor near the front of the palate. There is also some text that states this is an "AMERICAN WILD ALE BREWED WITH STRAWBERRIES." Again, the strawberries manage to come through which is a feat by itself. Typically strawberry flavor and aroma doesn't come through very well in most beers but this one manages to pull it off, even if it's only a little bit. On the side of the label it states that this is "A FIENDISH WILD ALE AGED IN OUR WOODEN FOEDERS AND BREWED WITH FRESH STRAWBERRIES AND STRAWBERRY JUICE." The foeder character doesn't come through at all and the beer is overrun by sourness.

As a whole it's an alright beer if you're looking for something simple and tart with a light bit of berry. It isn't a beer I would recommend to people who are looking for a well-balanced wild ale. I doubt I would buy it again.

10 oz snifter draft pour at Frisco Taphouse in Crofton, MD. This is a solid oak-aged wild ale with some nice funk and moderate acidity. Not as much fresh strawberry flavor as I was hoping for and it was also sweeter than I'd prefer. If I had to guess, the same beer with a different fruit (peach? passionfruit? raspberry?) would be instantly elevated to the next tier, at least.

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass.

Creamy light off white topped head, that settles a soft thin very white collar. Body color is a simple nice opaque peach yellow with hints of light orange. Fairly simple and straightforward.

Decent aroma of mild strawberry, but with hints of store penny candy and good amounts of sour acidity. Has an almost sweet purple candy grape flavor to it as well.

Palate continues from the aroma nicely. Light and simple bodied with a bit of candy sourness and fruity acidic notes that while hint of strawberry and grape also hit a little chalky slightly. Sweetness on the palate is not noticeable, but with a good drying finish and low tannic quality as well. Nicely carbonated, but nothing flat or overly fizzy either.

Comes off as a just a real good simple soured brew, with some simple fruity character.

It’s super hard to get strawberry in a beer and have it come through, but I feel that the wild nature of this one will allow the fruit to express better. Either that or the wild yeast notes will drown it out completely. I’m hoping for the former, but let’s crack open this clear homage to the Misfits logo and find out

Pours a cloudy gold with a finger of white head that quickly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing

Oh wow, the strawberry is actually really strong here, but it still remains slightly funky. I'm picking up on aromas of juicy strawberry, lemon juice, wet hay, apple skin, sharp oak, jammy apricot, and light white wine

In taste it's super punchy, yet delicate and funky at the same time. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting tart strawberry, lemon juice, sharp oak, peach skin, white wine vinegar, crabapple, and light leather. The swallow brings notes of wet hay, juicy strawberry, straw, lemon juice, jammy apricot, sharp oak, white wine vinegar, stone, and apple cider

A light medium body pairs with aggressive scrubbing carbonation, resulting in a sharp and acidic beer. Finishes bone dry and nicely balanced

Man, I liked this way more than I had expected to! I definitely need to pick up more, one bottle wasn't enough
