64 oz growler into an over sized tulip glass. Huge thanks to goodstrongbeer for sending this my way and making me play "guess the growler" with it. You da' man Jon!

Pours a beautiful looking brilliant clear amber, with 2 robust fingers of off-white foamy head. This retains with a ½ finger of smooth froth, which leaves back some rather heavy lacing that sticks to the sides of the glass in thick swathes. The aroma is fresh, floral, and spicy, with an added fruity mix of tropical character and some more bitter smelling grapefruit notes. A touch of earth and light herbal flavors mix in as well. Malts provide a smooth sweet backing in the nose, with toffee, bread, and even maybe a light smidge of vanilla giving this a sticky underlying robustness in the nose.

The taste has a firm hoppy profile going on with it, as a strong bite of spice, citrus rind, and bitter grapefruit spread out into the mouth. This has a pretty substantial malt base to match this, with a lot of caramel and toasted bread being present, as well as some extra sweetness that comes from the more citrusy aspect of the hops and adds to the overall stickiness of the profile. This finishes dry with a combo of lingering spice and pine. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a firm sharpness that rides along on top of some smooth underlying slickness that keeps this very easy feeling. Very nicely hid ABV here as well, being the type that you don't feel at all until after you've had a couple of glasses of it.

This was very good. Tons of fruit and sweetness (you can really pick those Nelson Sauvin hops out) but this was still excellently balanced with no shortage of hoppy bitterness here either. The overall drinkibility of this was what impressed me the most though, with that 6% being right on the money for the feel and easy drinking nature of an IPA. Wish I had another growler.
