WOW is all I can say! I can see why this brew has a 100 rating, it's freaking tasty! If they weren't so hard to come by 700+ miles from the brewery this could be my daily drinker. Pours a mostly clear, orangish gold. Had to give it a good pour to get any head. Smells of piney citrus, lovely. Taste is the same, damn this is good! The only drawback is that I only have a sixer and it's not readily available here in GA.

Aroma is pungent/dank/spicy hops. The flavor is citrus, fruit, grapefruit, malts, very slight sugar sweetness and a mix bitter and slight tartness in the finish.

L: Slightly Hazy copper gold color with a white medium head. Very little lacing on the glass.

A: Lemon, orange, pine and some weeds. Aroma seems a little restrained. Some toasted Bready malt.

T: Lemon, orange, grapefruit, a strong pine bitterness, toasted bread. Some floral notes, reminds me more of an IPA than pale ale.

F: Medium body, and carbonation.

O: Good but is way overrated, there are much better much easier obtained pale ale.

Top notch pale ale featuring citra hops, which are some of the best. Orangy grapefruity taste to it, and plenty of hops but far from overwhelming. A little bit of sweetness comes through too. If you haven't tried it, you should. If you already have, you're sure to grab another whenever available.

A good friend of mine was kind enough to gift me a couple 12 oz. bottles of this after he had recently visited the brewery. I had been wanting to try this one for a long time, but I had never been able to make it to the brewery or find it in stores. This beer features a white head that is frothy in appearance and dissipates slowly to a thin lacing that is retained. The beer itself is clear and is an orangish amber color that has a nice glow to it. Light carbonation is easily visible. 4.5/5 The aroma is definitely hop forward but there is a nice sweetness that balances it out. Notes of cracker, biscuit, buttered white bread, and just a hint of light caramel showcase the malt while the hops really come out with pine resin and citrus peel. 4.25/5 The flavor features a brief intro of a very light caramel note as well as bit of buttered white bread before the hops quickly come in and take over. Pine resin and orange peel really stand out as well as just a bit of grapefruit. Surprisingly it is not overly bitter, but the bitterness is definitely present, as it should be. The bitterness lingers lightly for quite a while. 4.5/5 Light to medium body in statures with a light carbonation burn up front that fairly quickly goes away, leaving a moderate dryness that lingers light after swallowing. Very crisp and refreshing. 4.25/5 This is an excellent APA that really lives up to the hype. Not crazy bitter like I expected, but it is definitely hop forward. The sweetness helps tone things down just a bit without taking away from the hops. By far my favorite APA as of this review. 4.5/5

One finger yellow-ish head, little hazy
Aroma: pine, orange, citrus
Taste: blood orange, little pine, good amount of hops and malt.
This rating is from a bottle a bit past it's prime but still a pleasure.

Happy to be able to have this on tap again. Yay Wisconsin! It would be hard for any beer to live up to the amount of hype this beer has but it definitely does.
The appearance is a really pretty amber gold with slight haze. Poured with a substantial white head with good lacing. Lively carbonation bubbles up the glass.
The aroma is a big and juicy citrus bomb along with tropical fruit, and some earthy dankness.
The taste is big with bitter grapefruit, orange, dank earthy zest and a resiny hop note.
The palate is light for a 6% hoppy pale with a lingering resiny hop bitterness along with a touch of malt sweetness.
Overall this is a great juicy pale ale featuring Citra, which is my favorite hop.

super balanced, no fruity hop flavors more of a perfect mesh of hop bitterness and quality malt flavor. West coast style for sure...by but still kind of a relic when compared to today's modern bangers coming out of MA.

Found this baby in a liquor store, inside a black windowless cooler in CA!!

A-Pours a golden orange, with a one finger cream head, that sticks around for the duration. Spotty lacing.

S-Smells of monster grapefruit and some piney earthy notes. Maybe some orange and sweet malt. Very inviting and pleasant.

T-Extremely balanced. Taste of grapefruit, rustic pine, with a dab of earth, orange and malt. Juicy and delicious. You can definetly kill a 6 pack of these and not get tired.

M-mild carbonation, with a perfect balanced, slightly bitter finish. Taste of grapefruit and pine.

O-extremely good beer, very drinkable and solid. Not sure if it deserves 100, but i Would definetly have it Again. Would prefer a Pliny any day over this one though.

Color is a perfect golden ale color, pleasant hoppy aroma with a good mouthfeel. The hops are very forward but we'll balanced out by a nice crisp malty body. The after taste comes slowly, but is very floral with notes of pine and fruit. Reminds me much of Founders Mosaic promise, with less fruity flavors.

Bottled on 5/11/16 and served in a sonic. Pours lovely burnt orange hue with a translucent claret and a dense, 1.5 inch, cream-colored head. Delicate citrus notes, a hint of something floral and a light biscuit malt presence. Taste follows nose; however, a bit more malt forward than anticipated, albeit not overly so for the style with a earthy/herbal bitterness that reveals itself at the finish. Mouthfeel is light in body with a pleasant, even carbonation. Overall, a delicious APA albeit perhaps not as bright as I remember it being. Very quaffable nonetheless.

Exceptional, dense, creamy head with a super fine texture and the consistency of meringue. Head retention is likewise outstanding. Seafoam crowned my beer through to the last sip.

Aromas are straight cuts hops. Citrusy, zesty, a bit spicey. Some tropical fruits in there too.

Flavors are citrusy, juicy, and smooth. Not super complex, but very balanced and with pristine focus. Biting bitterness, but not too much. Just enough malt to round things out while maintaining a dry, bittering, quenching finish. Nice.

Mouth feel is highly drinkable, quaffable even. Rare for such a happy brew. This one is like hop juice with some grain to give it body.

With the same mythic lore and scant availability as CA's Russian River beers, I knew this was a brew I had to track down. Sadly after several weeks of waiting and checking with my local liquor store I was left underwhelmed. The beer's piny, citrusy, and crisp intro led to a malty, sour finish. On the plus side, the wide variety of taste profiles created by this beer gave it an interesting and distinguishable character. Bottom line is that I had such high hopes for this beer and 3 Floyds was so close to a home run. It also seems they have taken a page out of the California craft brewer's handbook for the price. At $15 a 6 pack they are getting into hallowed ground that should only reserved for well known legends like Ballast Point and Stone. The west coast beer renaissance is slowing diffusing to the midwest and enlightenment is near with product like this. However, they aren't there yet.

All day long. I went into this one a little skeptical as at times hype rises above flavor or quality - not in this case. It was really, really excellent, but with a balance that allowed you to have a few of them and never tire of it.

I stumbled upon this in a restaurant once in Bloomington, Indiana because they were out of the other IPA I had wanted to order....boy was I pleasantly surprised....the words out of my mouth to my fiance were "Wow, this is actually really good"...I actually had no idea at the time this was rated as one of the greatest beers, but after trying it, I can see why....my only regret is I did not take advantage of my time in Bloomington to drink more of this sweet nectar....I love IPAs that burst with flavor but that are also balanced and complex, and this one fit the bill....

On tap at CBC 2016 - day 2. Clear amber with a nice, white head. Notes of grapefruit, tropical fruit, caramel and honey. Nice smooth body, very drinkable.

Juicy. Citrus with lots of tropical fruits. Low bitter, mild malt, tips well toward hops. I have to say there are a lot of beers like this now but this was a leader for sure. And only a PA? Def add an I

Slightly hazy deep gold (6) pour; thick white head with good cap retention; very good clarity under the the cap; moderately heavy clingy lace. Spicy fruit, and lemony hop nose with a touch of pine. Lemon zest flavor with caramel malt hiding under bright fruit flavors; slightly bitter. Well carbonated, medium lite mouthfeel with just a scosh of resin. Overall, fresh, crisp, lite and bright. I thought I got a little earthy hop/mango along with the citrus; nevertheless, an very well balanced beer with a lite bitter citrus linger.

There's a reason this beer is so difficult to come by. Perfect amount of hops. The citrusy smell is an unforgettable aroma. Pretty hard to top this beer.

This was a good, not great beer for me. Quite drinkable for a beer over 6% ABV. I think that perhaps the "American Pale Ale" is just not a flashy style. I might be getting jaded. I would try this again, if I ever find it in NJ.

L - A very nice deep golden hue with a 1 finger head that laces beautifully.
S - A pretty standard pale ale aroma. Lots of citrus on the front with a resiny pinish smell coming in at the end.
T - Excellent, super juicy with a burst of citrus throughout each drink.
F - Nice medium body and a perfectly clean finish
Overall - I love this beer!!! It definitely lives up to the hype. Are their pale ales that I have had that I prefer over this? Sure (maybe only 1) But this pale is outstanding.

Zombie Dust brewed by 3 Floyds Brewing Co., with an ABV of 6.20% This American Pale Ale pours out a nice deep amber color with a nice full white head. The smell of Zombie Dust is rich with hops bitterness grains and malts. The look and smell of this brew is really inviting, noting bad so far. Now for the taste it is bold with flavors. You pick up a nice amount of hop bitterness in the taste of this brew. There is also some nice notes of grains and malts in the taste of this brew. This one of the better American Pale Ale's I have had. It is really bold with flavors. I can't get over how smooth this brew is. Zombie Dust has a nice nice balance to it, there is overpowering about this brew. The mouthfeel of Zombie Dust is Bold, Rich, Clean, Smooth and refreshing. It is real hard to pick up on the 6.20% ABV in this brew , it is just that smooth. Overall I'm giving Zombie Dust Brewed 3 Floyds Brewing Co., a 4.50 out of 5. I would buy this brew again. 3 Floyds Brewing Co., did a real nice job with this one.

Was gifted a Zombie Dust by a co-worker. Not usually my type of beer, but I respect a well-made APA or IPA so it deserves a chance.

L -- Poured half-way into my imperial pint: lightly hazy deep gold, with a dense and sudsy white head that holds strong.

S -- Resiny Pine. Done. Okay, maybe some light citrus esters behind all the pine.

T -- Citrus flavors -- peach to grapefruit up front, with a well-balanced resiny pine character back. Ever so light biscuit malts perceived in the back taste and aftertaste, resiny finish into the aftertaste.

M -- Soft and smooth mouthfeel with a dry, bitter finish and hot alcohol notes.

O -- I'd rate this higher if it was listed as an AIPA, but it's just too hop-heavy for me to think about slugging a few down like I would with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. It just *might* scare the undead.

Had in the tasting room at the brewery. Rich golden, nice head. The bitter is strong with this one, but really clean malts backing it up and great flavors. Still, if you're into fruit IPAs or delicate aromatics this isn't the beer for you. It's a gut puncher for sure with the hops.
