For an APA, this has the flavor and aroma of an IPA. It's amazing that they can pack that much smell and taste into a beer with such a low ABV. A phenomenal beer.

One of the best from Three Floyds. Huge in your face hop aroma and bitterness. Great beer that I cannot get enough of.

HOPS!!! BITTERNESS?! Huge hop nose....beer is fueled by aroma hops. After smelling the hops and then taking a drink you are pleasently surprised how non-bitter it is given the amount of smell they emit. It is very well done and a true suprise of the top 10 in an American Pale Ale.

A: Pours a nice anger/ orange color with some haze. Forms a full white head that slowly dies. Lots and lots of lacing in this beer.

S: You can smell this beer from a foot away and it smells great. Floral hops, citrus, lemon zest. In the background is some pine, grass and malt. The floral hop aroma is really outstanding.

T: The citrus/ floral hop flavors hit first with a dry bitterness to the finish. Some pine and hay flavors present even stronger than in the smell. This beer is a study of balance and contrast.
I enjoyed this beer more once it warmed up and the flavors became more pronounced. I usually drink pale ales cold, but this one is good enough to enjoy at cellar temperature.

M: Nicely carbonated as benefits the style. Fuller bodied than most pale ales, the very dry finish leaves you wanting more.

O: This is a quality beer. The hype may have exceeded what you get in this beer, but you will not regret giving it a try. Not overly complex, but very flavorful for the style and very nicely balanced. An enjoyable drinking experience.
