Had three bottles about a month ago, also had on tap at Blackback last Saturday and they still had some tonight.

A-Dark copper color, nice white head.

S-Hops followed by a sweet citrusy, malty scent.

T-The smells really transpire to the taste. It is blended very evenly even with everything that is going on.

M-Medium bodied very drinkable APA.

O-I've tried this beer several times now, even lucky enough to get it on tap on the east coast! I have to say it's slightly underwhelming given it's very high rank and reputation. However it's still a great APA that deserves to have it's name thrown around with the greats.

I enjoyed this on tap at Three Penny Taproom in Montpelier VT, served chilled in a tulip.

The color is apricot shade of golden with hazed look and rings of lace cling with white head and fine bead. The smell is great strong citra scent with lots of pine and pineapple with mild zest of citrus with incredible amount of citrus hops in the aroma. The feel is great -just a touch of malt with plenty of hop bitterness and oils with med high bitterness in general and smooth oily dank resinous body with medium carbonation and semi-dry finish.

The flavor starts with citrus zestiness and juicy tropical fruit -mild mango and pineapple flavors give way to juicy grapefruit and light pale malt with subtle herbal and almost grassy accents with pure hop goodness all the way through. Love the fact this has a balance of malt for the style yet not holding back any hop intensity at all with finesse in the flavor. Overall one of the best pales in existence if no THE best - very worth with the emphasis on Citra making for a enjoyable flavor from first sip to last with citra essence in each taste -incredibly drinkable.

I tried this on tap and then poured from the bottle into a pint glass a couple weeks later (yes, from a fresh batch) and I'm just not impressed with this one. The Citra doesn't stand out. The beer is fine, but not special. It seemed to have a soapy characteristic to me in both formats.

12oz bottle poured into Spiegelau tulip.

A: Pours a clear amber with about two fingers of off-white head.

S: A nice intense tropical, citrus aroma that begs you to take a sip. More specifically I detect grapefruit, pine, orange, and pineapple.

T: Resinous pine, orange, grapefruit, pineapple, pepper - A slight graininess and also mildly sweet.

M: Medium body, moderate to high carbonation. Slick, crisp, and moderately bitter.

O: ZD has been a long time want and doesn't leave me at all disappointed. While I have had better examples, this is definitely among the best Citra single hop beers out there.

Wow, I've lived about an hour and a half from three floyds but have only enjoyed a few of their beers. This will surely change things around. Enjoyed a fresh bottle of this.

Acquired in a trade with oldschool9

From 12 oz bottle to pint glass

A: Sticky copper glow emits from this delightfully lit brew with an off-white head that dissipates quickly into a familiar IPA appearance. Props to the label art.

S: Luscious hops on the front combined with an incredibly pleasant malt sweetness. It's a honeycomb, sweet tea like aroma that is oh so pleasantly blended with the basket of citrus.

T: The balance here is a work of art. It's not overwhelmingly sweet and the hops are just enough to make this almost dangerously good...I've rarely had beers that live up to the hype but this is a close as you can get. Unbelievable.

M: Hard to call it a "session beer" but this would be easy to enjoy round after round after round.

O-"Lives up to the hype"
