A full-bodied pale ale that is big on the hops but is distinctly different than an IPA. Not as heavy as the IIPAs that I normally like to drink, so this is a lighter alternative without giving up big flavor.

Clear gold with three fingers of long-lasting, white head that eventually leave heavy lacing.

Pleasant aroma of grapefruit, lemon, soap, yeast, white pepper.

Same character from the nose: lemon and grapefruit citrus and soap. A quick flash of honey-caramel malt sweetness. Soft pithy bitterness in the aftertaste.

Soft mouthfeel with just the right level of carbonation.

The different pieces in the beer all come together exceptionally well. The kiss of malt in the taste and the great mouthfeel are just about perfect. Lives up the hype, IMO.

I was at the store in the morning and went back for more of a new beer I had had just tried. While standing in line to pay I saw the empty case on the counter.
The nose isn't strong. It's hoppy and sweet.
Head recedes quickly but leaves a thin layer that didn't go away giving way to a fair amount of lacing.
The perfect amount of bitterness. No bite. There are sweet citrus notes hidden in the hops.
The mouth feel it's wonderful. Perfect carbonation for the flavor. Smooth with tiny prickles.
I understand the cult following and am now slave to the trend.

Super Flavorful for a APA. Hoppy in smell and flavor. Juicy and slight bitter finish with citrus inbetween. Considering its a single hop beer, it is delicious.

Thrilled to get my hands on such a highly rated beer. Bottle looks cool and hoping what's inside lives up to the hype. Bottled 3/17/17 so pouring this one fresh. Pours a "typical" APA color- medium amber and just a bit hazy. Decent one-finger head but lots of carbonation based on the bubbles streaming from the bottom of my glass. Leaves fantastic lacing as beer is consumed.

Smells hoppy of course, but not overly so. Somewhat light and floral. Obvious citrus tones-- grapefruit for sure-- and sweetness. Malts on the nose as well.

Taste is bitter from Citra hops with hints of citrus. Malts and bread blended well with the hops. Very smooth and well balanced taste overall for this style.

Feel is light, carbonated, and dry.

Overall, I can't complain. A great beer, not world-class IMHO. Thankfully this is not the best pale ale I've ever had as it is hard to come by where I'm from. However, I would absolutely pick this up again if given the chance. The overall balance is this beer's strong point.
