16oz draft pour.
A deep dark, bottomless, brown colored body floats a thin haze of tan bubbles.
Aroma is hops, like the King.
Toasty malt flavor with hints of toffee and some chocolate.
Mouth feel is thick and a little glassy, but eventually dry.
Nice in freezing temps.

12oz pour on tap into snifter.

A: Black body leaning toward a little brown. Lightsmall tight creamy somewhat off white head.

S: Light roasted malts adecent amount of floral hops.

T: A little bit of a maltiness followed by a muddled resin and floral hops presence that disappears quickly.

M: Leaning toward a fuller body a little creamy.

O: Very average beer not hoppy enough to make a decent black IPA and a touch too hoppy and muddled to make a decent porter.

22oz bomber poured into a Natty Greene's pint glass:

Look: Pours an amazing jet black color with a nice dark tan head. Lacing is present with good retention. Love the way this beer pours!

Smell: Roasted malts & chocolate are heavy with a bit of citrus and piney notes from the aggressive hopping of this porter. Enjoying the aroma of the hops added to this.

Taste: Lots of chocolate and roasted malts coming thru but also a nice bitterness from the hops shines thru. Love the addition of the hops in this porter for a different spin on a porter. Very complex for a porter but in a good way!

Feel: Medium body with a nice creaminess texture!

Overall: Rock solid porter from the crew at 3 Floyds! This is one of the best porters I have had. Lucky to get my hands on a bomber of this. I will be revisiting this one next winter.

Pours a slightly viscous but silky dark brown and sits black in the glass with a thin layer of light brown foam.

Strong aroma of chocolate sweetness, piney and slightly citrus hop notes, a touch of roastiness, and a touch of baker's spices.

Roastiness and piney/citrusy hop bitterness comes out much more in the flavor, but the chocolate dances around as a back note and lends a balance of sweetness to the overall flavor.

Full-bodied, medium carbonation, roasty and hoppy bitterness up front with a smooth and sweet chocolaty finish.

Overall, I was quite pleased with this as the spicing took a backseat to the heavy hand of hops of chocolate malt.

In snifter on draft at Holts in Park Ridge IL. Solid, stronger on the coffee than expected. Booze well hidden.

One of my first craft beer loves. I found this gem at my local liquor store and this was the only bottle of craft beer they had and they were selling it for 4$. Needless to say I bought 4. And was not disappointed. Just enough thickness and spice to keep you going back for more. Wish I bought a whole case

3 year old bottle a buddy forgot in my cellar. Obviously past it's prime, but I can still smell and taste the promise of what this likely once was. Not terrible, despite the accidental extended aging.
