2009, white wax. Thanks to EH for the pour!

Appearance: Pours an obsidian, opaque black sludge with a thin tan head, fades to small thin island center. Poor retention.

Aroma: Bacon. Beer jerky. Vanilla, oak. concord grape. Ever so slight alcohol. Merlot. Prunes. Port-like.

Taste: Tart, complex arrival. sweet; extremely sweet. (at 66 degrees F). Liquorice on the finish. Fruit and sweet on mid-palate. Peaty finish. Tobacco (cured).

Mouthfeel: Heavy. Thick, oily. Not hot, but warming.

Overall: Extraordinary complexity on the arrival and finish. Too sweet across mid-palate for my taste, but an experience to remember, particularly when enjoyed with good friends.
