Serving: 22 oz. bomber dated 7/25/14, poured into a Founder's pint glass.

A: Pour a very cloudy and hazy orange color. Faint 1/4 finger white head.

S: Pineapple, mango, tangerine, clementine.

T: Same as it smells, with pineapple and tangerine flavors dominating. Actually rather sweet for a DIPA. Has an almost "juicy" and "fruity" quality and flavor to it.

M: Nice and full. Alcohol hidden very well. Faint bitterness on the finish, not overwhelming at all.

O: So I was surprised to see this listed as a DIPA on BA. Bottle says "cimmerian pale ale". As I started to drink it, it tasted more like a big IPA. But DIPA certainly fits it nonetheless. This is a good beer. For 3F DIPAs, my standard is Permanent Funeral, and this is nowhere near that level. This one's a bit too juicy-sweet for me. Tropical fruit flavors are very dominating. Still a great effort from 3F though.

Recommendation: Any fan of 3F or very citrusy DIPAs should grab this if able.

Big sweet hop mess. No delicacy or thought put into the hop balance in this IIPA. Big hops plus bigger sweetness, this might be better aged into a blonde barleywine after a few years in the cellar.

Strong body odor aroma hits first. Lots of grass and onion, with underlying citrus, but damn that b.o. is potent. Notes of peach and grapefruit emerge.

Flavor reveals much more fruit character upfront, with fresh cut grass and a hint of onion leading to a moderately bitter finish. Abv is definitely felt.Sharp notes of grapefruit and lime are almost puckeringly tart. I love the fruit notes, but could do without the b.o.and onion.

A hazy orange color. Great on the nose, nice hop aroma. A really nice pale with a bit of a tangy / spicy taste. Had it on tap at the brewery and from a bomber. Tap was better but was really good both times.

Not sure of the bottling date, but it was maltier than I was expecting. CSB was still a fantastic and enjoyable beer. Malty with a little hop bit at the end. A little spiciness was mixed in there as well. Definitely a full bodied beer. 3F left no doubt that this brew was a DIPA.

22 oz. bomber poured into a NB snifter.

A - Pours an opaque pale yellow-gold straw color into the glass. A three-finger head of eggshell white dense, but soft and fluffy, foam sets up, and then starts to collapse on itself, leaving sporadic little patches of suds. Eventually, a rather thick sheen of fine foams covers the surface. Held to a full-spectrum light, the beer is apricot-peach in color and very dense and cloudy.

S - A tropical and citrus fruit bonanza. Pineapple big time. Orange Jolly Rancher. A really nice toasted malt and orange marmalade comes up into the nose from underneath. Fresh pine resin in the background. Nose is rich and forward. Quite enjoyable in its own right.

T - Much like the nose. Tropical juice blend on a foundation of toasted malts that transitions to noticeable grapefruit. Complex. A bit of caramel with just a touch of orange emerges. Pine and dried herbs dominate the finish. As it warms in the glass, the malts and sugars get more play and the hops become more subdued.

M - A touch fizzy, with good carbonation. Body is medium and comfortable. Components are pretty well integrated, but also seem to slide around against each other in the mouth. Structure is full, almost thick, but has good viscosity. Finish shows some length, and lingers in echos.

O - For god so loved the world, he created 3F. What a delicious tropical fruit IIPA. It's almost a summer cocktail. A great toasted malt foundation nicely balances the dynamic hop profile, which starts out tropical/citrus and cleanses the palate with pine/herbal bitterness. Outstanding.

Pours hazy, orange-brown in color with 1/4 inch head. Get loads of Earl Grey tea with huge lemon, caramel, and Juicy Fruit gum. Medium-heavy bodied, low carbonation, dank and slightly bitter. I am really liking this beer. Of the thousands of beers I have had, I have to pause when I find something unique and this is just that. Not sure if I have had a beer like this. Interesting and well done...Better as it warms. One of the better beers I have had from Three Floyds...Should have gotten a second bomber.

Bottle shared at August THT. Semi-hazy amber pour with a white head. Notes oftropical fruit, honey, grapefruit, onions. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel and a hop bitter finish.

This is a big double ipa. Loaded with piney, floral and citrus type hops on top of a sweet malt backbone. Moderately resiny in the finish. A solid dipa.
