Bottle share at Proof. Dark black with a great creamy tan head that lasts pretty well. Smoky and toasty malt aroma. Smoky-malty-chocolate flavor. Not much of the hint of salty-brine I typically see in oyster stouts. Great creamy mouthfeel with nice aftertaste of silty chocolate. Creamy nitro-like carbonation and thick viscous body.

Had during the 2nd Annual Redneck Racin’ & Tastin’ while tailgating at the dirt track race! Big thanks goes out to Jzmhector for this one! Served from bottle into a NoDa snifter. Poured dark brown with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, salt, smoke, smoked meat, and roasted malt. The flavor was of sweet malt, roasted malt, smoke, and salt. It had a medium feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty decent brew. While the oyster aspect of this stout was there, it definitely wasn’t the star of the show like some of the ones I’ve had in the past. The soft salt aspect going on here helped to make this one easier to drink. Really glad I got the chance to try this one as I had no idea it existed. Worth trying if you get the chance.

Review from written notes.

Pours into a mini tulip glass with an ample head of tan foam, black body, with a lasting skim and sticky halo of lace that remains in the glass.

Roasty nose, dry bakers chocolate, a light underlying sweetness.

Unsweetened bittersweet chocolate chips, dry aftertaste with a long finish of dry roast and light hop bitterness. Medium to light bodied, clean and creamy feel. Very easy drinking, a wholesome porterish stout that incidentally contains oysters in the brewing process, not reflected in the final product. I love oysters, but there's no oyster flavor in here, let's not pretend.

Thanks to Lee for this one!

Got a bottle at the pub awhile back

A: Black beer. Tan head with nice carbonation.

S: Lots of roasted malt. I dont know if its just that its a oyster stout but I feel like I can smell the coast of Maine in this beer. It brought me back to a trip that I took out east, I really like that about this beer

T: A malty sweet stout with lots of sweet malt.

M: as a english stout should feel, lighter body

O: I really like this beer for the fact that it taste great and brought me back to one of my past vacations.
