Behold! The fifth collaborative effort of Three Floyds and Mikkeller. This complex ale is just the beverage for canal boat trips in Copenhagen or the brutal Chicago winter. Enjoyed from the tap at the Three Floyds Brewpub and served in a snifter.

The brew is a clear, deep golden with a touch of amber adorned with a one finger bright white head. The head is present as long as some brew remains as well as abundant web-like lacing. The nose is filled with citrus and flora and certainly is reminiscent of other FFF brews. Orange blossoms, juicy grapefruit, and bitter citrus rind are dominant. Milder notes of fresh cut grass and a touch of pine fill out the aroma. Opens with grapefruit rind and a blast of juicy citrus hops however the bitterness is immediately met by a light sweetness and velvetly malt which heads off the bitter bite. Instead of overt bitterness the tastebuds are treated to a long lasting juicy tangyness that slowly relents in the finish which is silky smooth and ends fairly dry. The mouthfeel is very unique as a heavy malt backbone is present, yet the density seems lighter than it should be. Extremely creamy and absolutely no hint of the high 10.4% abv. Enjoyable, a very unique brew.

Note: Having had the bottled version as well, I would suggest trying both versions as there are some distinct differences which led to slightly different experiences.

Thanks to CuriousMonk for the trade. Cheers!

Appearance: Puors a thick orange/yellow egg yolk with a thin two finger head that dissipates rapidly to whispy one finger cloudy white head.

Smell: Belgium yeasts and some citrus

Taste: Wow this is nice and crisp and super refreshing beer. I cant believe it is 10.4% I want to drink this on a boat in the sun. Ok, so the taste. Sweet yeasty taste up front with some hops in the end. There are some citrus notes, orange peel, slight lemon peel.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a nice thick lasting finish on the tongue. slight dryness in the very end, most likely from the hops.

Overall: Not sure of the style but this is great. it says rice beer on the label but I thought it was supposed to be a bwine. Anyways, this is a really nice beer that is easy drinking and nice yummy subtle notes that keep it on point. Cheers
