22 oz. bottle served in a FFF teku glass.

A: Pours a semi-hazy amber color with a pure white head forming on the pour. It recedes quickly to a thin ring that leaves some splotchy lace behind.

S: Spicy, phenolic yeast. Some fruity esters, pale malts and a cotton candy like sweetness. Mild gass, but the overall beer is driven by the yeast.

T: Dry yeast. Spicy pepper, coriander and fruity esters. Pale, sweet malts and a light grassy hop presence.

M: Medium to light bodied. Slight dry finish with a medium carbonation level. Easily drinkable.

O: Nothing out of this world, but overall a solid BSPA. I've enjoyed a few more of FFF's offerings in this style, however.

Poured into a snifter.
A - Pours a clear light orange with a small white head.
S - Banana, clove and Belgian yeast, very inviting.
T - Very earthy with notes of pepper, banana and clove.
M - Dry with significant carbonation.
O - I seem to like this more than most of the reviewers. I really like the complex flavors, which I had not expected. I often avoid Pale Ale's because most aren't complex. This one is quite tasty and I look forward to the next bottle.

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Hazy orange. Small white head. Wisps and a collar.

Smell - Nice orangey aroma. Phenolic cloves and bananas. Yeasty. Booze.

Taste - Much more of the Belgian character. Citrus is there, but fainter. More of a sweet apple flavor. Harsh pale malts. Booze and some spice in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Harsh alcohol. Not that much alcohol, but it's got a kick. A little heavy.

Overall - Enjoyed it at first, but it gets very harsh.

Pours a light semi-hazy sun golden yellow with a fair amount of prickly foam.

Biscuit-like sweetness, clove, earthy, toast, honey, and some pepper.

Clove, citrus rinds, resin, toasted bread, and that familiar Belgian peppery-spiced characteristic.

Light-medium bodied, medium-heavy carbonation, astringent, almost grainy, spiced, lackluster.

Overall, I was pretty disappointed with this, definitely not worth the price.
