Poured into a snifter. Great looking beer. A crystal-clear copper-orange color with a thick off-white head. Sweet on the nose: honey, banana, bubble gum, nutmeg, some peppery spice as well. The esters shined on the first sip, with lavender, pepper, roses, and then the sweet malt. The malt was restrained compared with the smell. In fact, this finished a bit dry which might explain the muted malt character. Tasty and interesting, but I was left wanting a bit more.

Look - Hazy. Bright copper. Head is thick and white. Lacing doesn't stick around long.

Smell - Bread/biscuit. Belgian. A little spice to it.

Taste - Classic wheat/Belgian taste up front. Slight dank hop taste then finishes to spicy Belgian.

Feel - I like the feel of this compared to other wheats/Belgians. It is smooth. Not too carbonated. It finishes well.

Overall - I would rather have a Rich Life over this. Almost all of the classic Three Floyds dankness is masked. Not a bad beer by any means.

Impressions of first few sips: You ever been drinking a good Belgian Strong and thought to yourself "gee , this would be better if it was infused with fruity smelling candle wax?" No? Well I haven't either.

Impressions of sips after the first few: eh, it grows on you. The fruit starts to taste more like fruit and less like chemical imitations of fruit. Still, the spice profile ain't very good, and there's no malt or anything to help balance it out.

While the assertive Three Floyds brewers are happy to venture into seldom-seen styles of English, Belgian and German roots but rest assured that they will do them the "by-God" American way! ...and that means with hops.

Bright golden in its vivid sheen, heavy streams of effervescence bring out bold and perfumy aromatics that lace with white pepper, citrus, light clove, tropical fruit, estery banana, melon and papaya. Its honey-dipped taste is sweet and rounds out the tangy taste of fruit to near perfection.

Fruity and spice battle out in exquisite balance on the middle palate. With the firm backbone of honey, faint caramel and angel food cake, each give the fruit flavors an excited display. Tropical, citrus and orchard fruit have a bright and vibrant character that's met only with the earth and spice that's brought to life by expressive carbonation. And the hop bitterness gains prominence as the taste concludes to give the beer a Belgian IPA character.

As the fruit and sweetness lifts, carried away by bold effervescence, the body lightens and the hops project. Freshly torn pine needles, fragrant spruce, and softly muddled citrus peels release bitter oils and frame the character of hops in a deep and lasting afterglow

A - Fairly clear orange, amber with a thin white head and a streak or two of lace.

S - Spicy, phenolic yeast and fruity esters. Cotton candy like sweetness.

T - Stone fruits, spicy yeast, fruity esters, light floral hop.

M - Medium body, well carbonated, sweet with dry finish, alcohol is well hidden but has slight warming sting on the tongue.

D - Solid beer.

I picked this up at the brewpub a couple of weeks ago.

Served in an Elysian tulip.

A: Poured a fairly clear orange color, with a slight bit of chill haze. The head was about 1/3 head and clung to the glass and then some.

S: Not extremely potent, but just enough. Breakfast cereal, mild citrus, and funky Belgian yeast strain.

T: One would have to have a microscope to detect any FFF activity surrounding this, but it was still pretty good, but not great. The finish was pretty smooth, the overall flavor profile yelled saison to me, and the citrus was of the fresh variety.

M: Not too sweet, moderate lacing, and good carbonation bill. Nothing wrong with it.

O: For $10/bomber, I expected more, but I guess that is what everyone says about FFF.
