650 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Hazy orange. Small white head. Wisps and a collar.

Smell - Nice orangey aroma. Phenolic cloves and bananas. Yeasty. Booze.

Taste - Much more of the Belgian character. Citrus is there, but fainter. More of a sweet apple flavor. Harsh pale malts. Booze and some spice in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Harsh alcohol. Not that much alcohol, but it's got a kick. A little heavy.

Overall - Enjoyed it at first, but it gets very harsh.

Thanks B!

A - Pours a hazy light orange with yellow edges. 3/4 of an inch light tan head forms that fades slowly.

S - Bannana, Belgian spice-peppery and lemons.

T - Just like the nose. More leom and orange citrus in the finish.

D - Good carbonation with a lighter body.

O - Light citrus forward Belgian pale, very solid.

22 ounce bottle into signature teku glass, 2012 bottling. Pours hazy golden orange color with a fairly dense 1 finger white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of big orange, peach, pear, apple, pineapple, orange zest, floral, grass, candi sugar, honey, clove, light pepper, light bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and fruity/spicy notes. Taste of orange, peach, pineapple, pear, apple, floral, clove, honey, candi sugar, light pepper, light bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of orange, peach, pineapple, pear, apple, floral, clove, honey, candi sugar, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity of fruity ester flavors; good balance of malt and light spicy esters; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly slick and slightly syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent and unique Belgian strong pale ale. All around nice complexity and balance of fruity flavors with malt and light spicy esters; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.
