Dry cocoa powder, caramel malt and a large dose of coffee meets the lips as it finishes with some charred marshmallow, roasted nut and Graham cracker.

22 Oz Bomber
Bottled on March 16th, 2015

Served in a Nonic Pint Glass

Eyes
Poured a very dark brown body, similar to coffee. A bit of light broke through the edges of the glass and produced a handsome mahogany glow. A towering light brown head formed, well over an inch in height. A nice layer of bubbles and froth capped off the body after the head collapsed. A decent amount of soapy lacing was left behind.

Nose
Nice roasted tone overall. Nutty and grainy toasted malts stood out the most. Lighter layers of chocolate, toffee. Subtle note of mocha. Traceable zip of herbal hops.

Mouth
Dense hit of toasted malts up front. Sweeter notes followed: Chocolate, toffee, and a bit of vanilla. The hops flared up toward the finish, giving notes of charred pine. Full bodied, though it definitely leaned toward the medium side of the spectrum. Moderate/low carbonation. Smooth drinker.

Overall
If you look past the hoppy finish, this is a classic oatmeal stout. Considering the dense roasted malts, this is a very drinkable stout.

Poured cold into a Libby stout glass. Fresh.
Look = 3.5 Pours a deep brown/black with 1/4th finger of brown head. Fades to brown highlights. Lace is lacking, little to none.
Aroma = 4.0 Roasted, toasted malt, chocolate, grainy oatmeal smell. Some hops too with a hint of alcohol as it warms.
Taste = 4.5 Roasted malt leads the way. Chocolate, coffee and oatmeal notes followed by a mild bitterness from roasted malts and hops. Kind of a cookie taste, sweet and oatmeal. A roasted malt aftertaste lingers.
Feel = 4.5 Medium to full bodied, smooth with high carbonation. Fizzy yet still smooth.
Drinkability = 4.0 Really tasty and smooth, low ABV (5.9%) makes for a pretty drinkable and interesting oatmeal stout.
Overall = 4.175 Very interesting and complex oatmeal stout. Feel and taste lead the way, smooth, sweet but balanced with a nice hop profile. Great balance.
