Bottle shared by Mike last night, thanks man.

This one pours a clear light amber, with a small white head, and a little bit of lacing.

This one smells like super bitter grapefruit, super resinous pine, a bit of booze, and sweet caramel malt.

This is definitely a bruiser- the malt backbone is certainly beefed up here, but it doesn't overpower the big hop assault- it's super sticky, with big grapefruit, some orange, heavy duty pine, cannabis, grassiness, and leafiness. There's some definite caramel here, but it's not too sweet, luckily.

This is medium bodied, with a pretty sticky body, and good level of carbonation.

This is an impressive beer here- it retains an interesting malt backbone, while still being a big aromatic and juicy hop barrage.

Poured from bomber into snifter. Bottled about one month ago (8/10/16)

Look – copper color with nice head. Leaves good lacing on the glass.

Smell – fruity hop aroma. Alcohol comes out. Peach or pear.

Taste – alcohol is present. Has some bitterness. Rich flavor. Complex hop taste.

Feel – Substantial. Smooth.

Overall – Strong bold beer with well-balanced hops and fruity aroma. Complex. Love this.

From a bomber into a snifter. I drank this fairly fresh, less than 3 weeks after bottled.

L - Pours darker gold color, with a good amount of head that stays around for a bit.
S - Aroma is nice; sweet bread
T - a lot of hops up front, then some malt that is understandable given the ABV. The grass / leaf taste outweighs the fruit tones to me. Doesn't do a poor job of hiding the alcohol, but you can taste the 10.5%.
F - Body is thick for even a IIPA - very strong, best part of this beer

It's a really good beer, though it's a bit too strong for my taste.

Poured out of a pint bottle into a pint glass. The smell was like a powerful wallop of hops with some fruit undertones. The first sip was even more powerful, you can definitely taste and feel that 10.5% ABV. That is not by any means a bad thing though., the flavors balance the strength admirably. I loved the spritely mouthfeel, it was like a thousand little tickly shocks on the tongue. In all its hoppy, hempy, tropical fruity. greatness, this is an excellent beer, worthy of all of it's high reviews.

Poured from a bomber into a Goose Island tulip. The pour is quite clear, gold in color, and (if rough) sports an impressive crown of white foam. The nose is nice, but a bit more subdued than I expected. I get sweet notes of fresh bread as well as some lemon.

Medium body with a hop-forward flavor and a silky feel. Some mild malty notes up front to balance out the hops, and then a big blast of oily, husky, hemp-like leafy flavors. It's like liquid hash, but in a good way. Very unusual flavors here. Along with the grassy notes there is a fair amount of over-ripe tropical fruit (mango? papaya?) and an elusive sherry-like flavor that seems to pop up and vanish before it can be identified. I definitely detect some alcohol on the finish, but it's not enough to detract from the drinkability.

This is such an odd beer. It certainly tastes like a IIPA, but I can't quite single another one out that it reminds me of. If I had to compare it, I would say it kind of tastes like a blend of Bell's The Oracle and GL Lake Erie Monster with the body of Stone's Enjoy By. I don't know. It's good, but Dreadnaught is (IMO) still the best damn IIPA Three Floyds makes.

On tap - piney, bitter and sweet - very apparent that this is a huge beer. Fairly well-balanced beer which can be somewhat difficult to do at 10.5% ABV.

Had on tap at the brewery. This is a phenomenal DIPA. It's the easiest, smoothest, perfectly hoppy, most drinkable, tropical tasting, hidden ABV, perfectly balanced DIPA I've ever had. As much as I love other beers from FFF, this one is the best I've had. I'm so incredibly impressed. So bummed I missed the bottles because I must have this one again.

FFF Permanent Funeral

Look: Bright yellow-orange with two fingers of fluffy foam leaving behind tons of lacing as it settles. Cloudy body. Great-looking IPA. 4.25

Smell: Smooth hops with an usual sweetness. Also a bit of sweaty funk. I realize that sounds a little gross, but it's not stale or old-smelling. 4.0

Taste: Bright, citrusy orange flavor with a bit of spice on it. Smooth and sweet with some bitterness on the finish. Unfortunately, it has faded a bit, but it's still quite tasty. 4.0

Mouthfeel: Nice full/round feel, and it finishes clear and crisp. 4.0

Overall: I normally wouldn't review an IPA that isn't super-fresh, but this is still so good that I wanted to write the review anyway. This is a fantastic IPA. If I still lived in Chicago, I would *not* take this beer for granted. 4.25

Dark orange color, hazy, piny combined with fruit and bitterness, bold, in your face flavor but they all work well and it is a pretty amazing beer. No sense that its an almost 11% abv.

F: Medium body.
Great IIPA from 3 Floyds. Definitely tasted like a FFF IPA.

This is 3Floyds (an therefore Indiana's) best IPA. Wish they made it more often and sold 6pks so you could get more than 22 oz at a time. Truly great stuff.

22oz bomber dated late May 2016 poured into tulip.

Appearance: Pours a deep slightly cloudy amber with an off white head that lingers. Bubbles churn within the liquid.

Smell: Hoppy, juicy, bright.

Taste: A smooth, bright hop forward taste with a beautiful balance of maltiness on the back end that makes this disappear all too quickly. No alcohol taste noticed at all. Outstanding.

Mouthfeel: bitterness from the hops lingers slightly. Not as overpowering as almost any IIPA out there. Very nice.

Overall: I'm buying more the moment I see it on shelves again. Outstanding in all regards.

A - Pours a hazy amber with a one finger creamy white.

S - Aroma of orange, grapefruit & caramel malts.

T - The taste follows the aroma. Sweet caramel malts, orange, mango, grapefruit and finishing with earthy hops.

M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Very soft creamy mouthfeel.

O - This is a kick ass DIPA. This is definetly worthy of all the hype and praise.

A - nice golden Amber clear color with a white head that sticks and leaves sparse lacing
S - big caramel malts, citrus hops, grapefruit, orange, overly ripe fruit
T - nice big caramel malts, citrus hops, grapefruit, orange, Mandarin orange, overly ripe fruit
M - medium mouthfeel, alcohol covered, aftertaste is caramel malts and citrus hops
O - I feel like I noticed this one past its prime and I'm bummed about that. Bottled 4/1/2016, drank 5/30/2016. I love hardcore metal like pig destroyer and should have tried this one when it was fresher. Oh well, live and learn.

Never been crazy enough to stand in line for Dark lord so I have no dog in that fight but this IS the best beer FFF makes. Makes the hype fest known as zombie dust look like crap. Plus this has Citra in it like hype dust. This beer just does it BETTER!

Shiny copper penny colored with a solid inch of creamy off white to beige head on top. Moderate lacing. The aroma is of fiercely bitter citrus hops and light malt. The taste is packed with bitter citrus hops and light malt that barely keeps the aggressive hops in check. There's a massively deep hop burn on the tongue. The mouth is otherwise dry.

BOD 4/1/16. Clear dark gold / medium amber pour. Outstanding head volume, world class lacing and retention.

Rich world class nose of tropicals (mango, pineapple) and citrus (tangerine, orange) with a touch of spice over a cracker biscuit that also has bready elements.

Heavy medium body that is superbly smooth and escapes into the realm of oily and creamy from time to time. World class carbonation / body balance with a nice prickly effervescent middle and a finely bubbled prickly finish. The finish allows world class flavor complexity to pop.

The flavor profile is world class. This is a hop flavor focused beer that rides over a solid, and sweet, malt base. Bitterness is relatively low and teases the palate with orange/tangerine rind. It begins with a slightly sweet tropical and citrus flavored blend that becomes more rind influenced until the middle. Here, sweetness assumes center stage and the hop flavors separate. Tropicals arrive first - mango, pineapple and possibly peach as an undercurrent (as it warms, this is definitely peach). Sweetness fades as the finish approaches and orange is center stage with light tangerine notes coupled with zest. The 10.5% alcohol remains completely covered, which indicates a brewing masterpiece - no astringency whatsoever. The finish is subtly dry and all the previous flavors arrive for the curtain call and take their well deserved bows over a sweet base.

I'll start off by saying this is one of the best imperial IPAs I've ever had the pleasure of putting on my palette. Bottled on 01-Apr-2016 and poured into a snifter glass on 11-Apr-2016. Immediately hit with aromas of pineapple and orange zest. Incredible feel along with fruity hop character and almost no bite -- especially for the high ABV. This is all accomplished unlike any other IPA I've tasted. I'll be making the trip back to Indiana for this, no doubt.

Zombie Dust has a slight edge, albeit VERY slight edge over this wonderful beer. I think the hoppyness is less profound, but yet hits the back of the palette after what seems like an extended amount of time.

Like all the 3 Floyds a great name and cool label. Poured from a 22 oz bomber purchased at brewery. I was a little disappointed by this one. Pours a hazy orange. Smells of citrus and hops. Taste was a little off, citrus, lemon, lime. Not a bad beer, but not one of the best I have had from 3 Floyds.

Bottled 2/15/16, poured into a Hopslam snifter. Super cloudy yellow orange, can't even see the carb. Good foam and lacing though. Super dank nose, hops and malt totally in the forefront. Slight zesty citrus note on the scent as well. The taste is a battle between malt and hop. Zesty and citrusy with a surprisingly slight amount of bitterness. Full mouth feel, pretty well-balanced. I'd say it's slightly below Dreadnaught, but an excellent beer nonetheless. Looking forward to trying the two other Double IPAS from them I have on hold at the store.

Poured from bottle dated 2/15/16.

Appearance (awesome bottle artwork BTW)- But crystal clear orange, minimal head, excellent lacing.
Smell- Def get malt before hops on this one. at 10.5 abv, not really surprised though
Taste- Tropical fruit upfront, malt on back end, can def taste the alcohol.
Feel- Creamy mouthfeel, finishes dry.
Overall- a rock solid Imperial IPA worthy of its ranking.

22oz bomber poured into a snifter. Bottled on date is 02/15/16.

A- Pours a mostly clear bright orange with a small amount of head which quickly fades.

S- Strong tropical and citrus notes are abundant on the nose.

T- The same strong tropical notes carry into the taste, to include mango and orange above all. A slight sweetness of the malts is noted at the back end of the taste.

M- Medium bodied, bitter, dry finish, very drinkable for the higher ABV.,

Very nice beer, Three Floyds does the hoppy stuff well.

Sick artwork on the bottle. Pours an orange-yellow from the bottle. The nose is sweet and piney. The body has a medium sweet maltiness with a faint bitterness.
