BEER INFO

Style: American Double / Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 9.00%

Availability: Limited (brewed once)

Notes / Commercial Description:
Brewed with our friends at Surly, this Imperial Brett IPA is fermented with a unique strain of yeast, Brettanomyces Lambicus. This yeast creates earthy barnyard notes along with pineapple and cherry pie aromas. Of course, it’s hopped heavily. Simcoe and Chinook are the culprits for the “cat peed on the Christmas tree” aroma.

Really interesting beer thanks to rudzud for sharing. 7/22/13

Big fluffy fizzy fluffy soapy 2 finger head fades semi slowly with lots if messy lacing, mostly clear lemony yellow color.

Nose super fruity peach and apricot like, some tropical fruit like hops with mango and little papaya, nice Brett funk with little pineapple and juicy fruit, pineapple eventually really ramps.

Taste quite nice, big pineapple tropical fruit Brett and citrusy tropical hops, nice mild funk Brett, musty dank grapefruit pith and lemon rind, little grainy malt no real sweetness. Mild spicy bitterness, earthy hops. Long bitter hop finish, lots of pineapple and tropical fruit, earthy rind hops.

Mouth is med bod, nice carb.

Overall great.

Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a crystal clear copper hue with a thin white head that fades to leave a thin lacing and light cloud.

S - Aromas of cherry pie, pineapple, misty brett, glorious simcoe and Amarillo hops. Nice lambicus notes, super awesome.

T - Taste is just like the nose. Epic brett, glorious fruits, cherry, pineapple, light hops nice floral faint pine and tropical fruits, delicious.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, super drinkable, alcohol hidden well.

O - Overall this beer is really fun and nice, super interesting, loads of brett and fun fruit. Very glad to try this, awesome!
