For me, this was a surprisingly refreshing beer...
Orange coloration with white , foamy head that has some good staying power. The smell was lightly hoppy with a distinct citrus smell that I found quite appealing. Mouthfeel was more watery than I prefer, however, it was light, crisp, and truly easy drinking. Before I knew it, I had down have the glass without blinking twice. The overall flavor was citrus, didn't note any of the hops, and it had a dry back-end to it. Overall, a very good brew, glad I still have a few on hand to still enjoy...

12 oz. can pours a somewhat cloudy golden color with moderate white head but not much lacing. Aroma has lemon, wheat bread, and some floral hops. Taste ends up bitter with sweetness coming out in the aftertaste. Body is light to medium with lively carbonation. Always refreshing and never boring.

Pours hazy gold color with an 1 finger thick white head that dissipated much slower than expected, leaving decent lacing. Smells of floral notes, bubblegum, coriander, citrus hops, biscuit and fresh cut grass. The hop aromas work well with the wheat and malts. Tastes exactly like it smells with the additions of honey, lemon zest, grapefruit, a hint of pine, melon and peppery spices. It’s dry with mellow carbonation, a medium body and no bitterness. I found it very easy to drink and refreshing. Had several over the course of the night and really enjoyed it.

L = Nice golden amber body clouded with pulp, 2 inch pure white foamy head, head gone, lacing sparse in three minutes.
S = Everything expected from a pale ale. Hops, Pineapple, pine needles, wheat, sugar. Appealing.
T = Wheat, lemon citrus, hops, earthiness. Not quite as distinct or pleasing as the nose.
F = A bit watery, dry, puckerish. A bit too dry to satisfy thirst, but fine if that is not a desired outcome.
O = Good, pleasant, I would not buy on it's own, but is part of a 3 Floyds family pack with Zombie Dust , and is certainly welcome if I cannot find an all Zombie Dust 12 pack. Enjoyable.

Many years it took to finally find this one, being from the barren prairie and all...
Pours medium gold and modestly hazed. Ample but quickly dissipating head. Solid lacing.
Floral and citrus aromas first; pale clean malts follow. Grassy hops in the background.
A wash of numerous yet still--somehow--well-balanced and clear flavors. Tart lemony wheat, as well as pale grainy wheat; a touch of fruity ester; grassy hops; green apple; cucumber/vague melon; and a bit of white pepper.
Medium-light bodied. Not crisp or even drying really, yet the finish is still pretty short, so it's very drinkable.
I managed to pick up a few bottles of this in St. Louis on a long trip. I need to find a way to bring far more home the next time I find it.

Look: Cloudy and yellow on the pour, which jump starts a voluptuous head to rapidly form, threatening to spill over before slowly settling to a pillow and leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Lime zest, wheat bread and malt, lemongrass, and light yeast phenolics
Taste: Opens up with a touch of floral notes that quickly transition to lemon-lime flesh and zest. Wheat bread joins the fun and unpacks with hints of freshly baked bread and even a little dough and these go back and forth as it progresses. A few pop-ins from some bubblegum and light clove phenolics show up near the end before wheat and lemons close it out
Mouthfeel: Full, soft, smooth, medium-high carbonation, and soft and smooth on the finish
Overall: This is some tasty stuff. After almost 20 years, I finally found, bought, and consumed the illustrious Gumballhead – a beer I first heard about as a 22 year old lurker on this “B.A. website” thing and one that seemed to have a cult following. I’ve never seen any 3 Floyds stuff in this state before this year but spotted this as well as Zombie Dust and don’t know the reason, nor do I care. This is a really delicious American Wheat that is hoppy and in all the right ways (read: not clashing with the subtle wheat malt) and I’m glad to have finally tried it as it lived up to my hype, even as a beer that probably doesn’t need or have “hype” where it’s readily available. GUMBALL HEAD – THREE FLOYDS BEER – ITS NOT NORMAL
This is a very colorful can of beer. It’s from Muster Indiana an a truly delight of a beer. I got it for Father’s Day from my son. The brew pours with a huge head and a hazy color and taste. The flavor is a fruit mix of green apple and honey dew melon. There is no hop bite which makes this an easy to drink delight. After drinking more, a bit of carrot juice comes through as well. I really recommend this beer. Its made in Muster Indiana.

I tried this beer for the first time 20 years ago. I thought it was world class, at the time. I've tried it again a few times on the occasions when I was in the Midwest. Tried it again on a road trip through Indiana and Illinois. I still say this is world-class. What impresses me is that the brewery makes some very strong, very highly-rated beers. Then they also make this nice little wheat ale, whatever - but the wheat ale is exceptional. Maybe one of the best go-to beers in America. Skillfully combines the virtues of wheat beer with the virtues of high hoppiness, similar to the better Lagunitas beers. Overshadowed in hype by their unsessionable strong ales, but this is usually your best choice from 3 Floyds.
