Consumed 12/18/15
A: Medium orange-gold, with a blend of honey and tangerine tones - hazy - pours with a medium-large off-white head, gradually fades to a small, nearly solid but mostly wispy cap - keeps a medium sized cap, leaves streaks of lacing
S: Citrusy and juicy, and not as brutally agressive as some other FFF DIPAs - orange and grapefruit flesh, juice, pith - straight-up orange juice - dank and resinous notes - sticky tropical fruits, tropical fruit juice, touches of mango - herbal aromas, some pine, some mint - pale and caramel malts at the base, with some caramelized malts and sweetness
T: Citusy, hoppy fruit juice cocktail - huge citrus flavor, with orange juice, grapefruit juice, oil, zest, and pith - tropical flavors, fruit juice, mango, and something like banana - dank and resinous flavors - herbal notes and dry pine - hints of mint - medium level of bitterness (tame for FFF standards) - pale and caramel malts - some sweetness from caramel malts, touches of toffee, but dry overall
M: Medium body, smooth, a bit oily, sticky, medium to low carbonation
O: Into the mouth for war
Three Floyds makes a lot of DIPAs. War Mullet is memorable because of it's slightly lower ABV and its interesting blend of hops. As with everything FFF brews, it is definitely worth trying.

Bottled on 10-30-14
A - Cloudy Amber body with clean white ~2" head. Lacing holds well throughout tasting.
S - Smell was a little less pungent than most 3F's DIPAs. Citrus, malt, and hops seemed well balanced.
T/M - Malt, sweet burnt sugars, citrus (orange more than pineapple/lemon), pine/grass. Good creamy/chewy mouth-feel. Low ABV makes for a very clean and drinkable beer.
O - Sweet malt forward taste with nice citrus and pine finish. Good DIPA with a little more malt and pine than other offerings. Not my favorite 3F DIPA, but they have so many good ones to choose from. Still quite tasty and worth checking out. Prost!

God help me, I've reached a point where 8.x% DIPAs no longer excite me, even if they contain enough alpha acid to strip away herpes rashes. We are all junkies. Or worse. We're like a bunch of zit-faces at one of those sci-fi conventions (the kind where you can meet real-life Yodas). We consume and consume and consume, consume so much we can't separate our identities from our consumption, become so monstrously and emotionally involved in the scene that constitutes our selves that we will never be happy, every little thing our overlords do is met with contempt and complaint. But we keep consuming. We have to. We don't know how to exist if we're not consuming.
So then there's this. It's good. But so are the twenty five thousand other beers that are just like it that have come out in the last two years. The bottle art is pretty shitty, so there's not even that. But the once-outrageous price of ten bucks a bomber is now kinda reasonable, so there's that.
Bright orange. Smells like sugary, thick malt (almost like extract syrup, minus any offputting medicinal nodes), caramel, orange, and grapefruit. Tastes exactly like the aforementioned smells, only the thickness becomes a wee bit offputting as it hits the back of your throat.
