Traffic sucked once we got off I-80, it was the longest 3 miles ever. The drive from Chicago was not bad. I knew that 3F was tucked away in an industrial area. That was no lie.

As soon was we pulled into the parking lot it was clear as day this was a brewery with a restaurant as the loading bays are right of the doors to the restaurant. Again, as expected. As we walked in the door all I could smell was beer making. What a lovely smell!!

The restaurant is fairly small, it was around 2pm on a Tuesday and most of the people eating there were locals who clearly were not there for the beer. We were. Dreadnaught on-tap... score! Blackheart IPA... nice! Alphanaught... tasty! Not to mention Gumballhead and Alpha King. There was a robust helles lager (it might have been smoked) and one other specialty beer not to mention Pride & Joy and Robert the Bruce.

Since we were on our way back to Omaha we only had two beers each, I went with 5oz glasses of both Alphanaught and Blackheart IPA and Tara did Dreadnaught and Blackheart. Of course the beers was good.

We ordered a BLT and fish and chips. I liked the fish a lot, very flaky and tasty. The fries were okay. I don't think Tara was all that thrilled with BLT. It was food and we were hungry. I wasn't expecting much and frankly our low expectations were satisfied.

The service was adequate. Our waitress seemed way over worked, she was the only waitress on the floor, there was a bartender but he wasn't doing much. When we were done eating we asked if they had a gift shop. They did we were told but our waitress was too busy to take us there. I said we could walk over. She said it was locked. Then she stared at me for a couple moments and said she'd take us there in a few minutes. Okay. So, after about five minutes she grabs a set of keys from behind the bar and escorts us to the next room (next room in the restaurant) only to find a locked display case. Our waitress told us we couldn't touch the shirts! She nodded towards Nick Floyd who was sitting nearby and said he didn't allow it. Our waitress told us to look quickly. I was irritated. I asked about hats, they had the two on display, both were not my style. I did get a t-shirt as I felt some obligation after all this "hassle". Lastly, it was an ordeal to buy the damn shirt... something to do with cash or credit card. By then I didn't care. Sorry I wanted to rock some 3F gear. Don't sell it if it is so complicated.

As good as the beer was and as inviting and chill as the atmosphere was the location is too out of the way. I wonder where the nearest hotel is? I'd stop if I was driving on I-80 but I wouldn't detour from Chicago again.

Came all the way from California and aside from the wedding I was attending, I made it a point to stop by Munster. After my flight to Chicago was delayed coupled with heavy traffic out of the city towards South Bend, a detour seemed in place as 3 Floyds was on the way.

Arrived late on Thursday, about 9:45pm, greeted by a smiling face and were immediately seated near the take out beer counter. As we sat down we were greeted with menus and asked what we wanted to drink. With all the talk about Permanent Funeral, I just had to order one. There are some quality beers in CA, Russian River to name one of the more popular ones I frequent. So the bar for good beer is set rather high.

PF did not disappoint, down to the last drop. Amazing tasting beer that can be mentioned in the same sentence as Pliny the Elder. Wanting to try something else, round two was Alpha King. Another solid beer from 3FB, very pleasing to the palette.

I had not received the second round when I went to see what I could take back to CA. Seeing PF, I jumped at that and a case of Zombie Dust. A cool $160, not including the t-shirt. Now how does one get 36 bottles back to California?

Dinner was absolutely amazing! The menu, quite impressive didn't have much for a vegan. Thankfully the waiter checked with the chef and I was provided two options. How cool! Was impressed when I order and got my pizza. Tasted great, coupled with amazing beer.

The brew up was not as I expected it, but the staff was welcoming and friendly. The music, seemed to be set to the names of the beer, hard, heavy and strong in nature. Loved it all.

So thanks 3 Floyds for an amazing experience. Can't wait to return in the future!

This place is randomly located in the back of what seems to be an industrial park. The place itself is much smaller than expected with a smaller bar than expected. I went on a Saturday night and surprisingly got a spot at the bar right away. This is basically a dive bar, with good beer. Constant metal music blasting all night. The food was really good, as was the tap selection. I also walked away with a case of Zombie Dust that night, worth visiting once but not something I'd make a point to visit again.

Like going metal heads basement... in heaven. Went for the beer, which is awesome, but the food was amazing. Offering many styles I did not expect, all damn good.

Stopped by at opening on a Monday. So didn't expect too many people. But the place actually filled up pretty quickly. Not completely full or anything. But, about half full (half empty). I can imagine how busy this would be on the weekend or for dinner. As far as the vibe, I was also fairly surprised at how non-metal and all that the experience was. It's a brew pub, not a death metal club that also has beer. Didn't feel one way or another about the tables, bar, tvs, decor. Fine enough. The beer quality and selection was fantastic. I really only went for their beers, and they were delicious and well poured. The beer descriptions are helpful. Really helps you just make a choice yourself pretty easily. Service was good. Checked on very frequently. Bill on time. Server responded differently to different tables needs. Food very good. Got hot chicken and the fries. Both were fantastic, with many more interesting options I'd like to check out again.

What a great place!
The beer is exceptional, so fresh! Bottle shop is efficient and yet with very polite and respectful service.
The food was really good, the price was a bit high, but they seem to take pride and use quality ingredients.
And right next to an Ultimate Warrior bomber jacket in a picture frame, there was Rowdy Roddy Pipper starring in 'They Live'!!
