World class beer, and the food was fantastic at the brew pub as well. I got great service all the way around. Great place to get a drink and some grub to go with it. Three Floyds sets the bar for what a brewpub should be.

3 Floyds is obviously one of the iconic US Craft Breweries. We lined up an hour before it opened on a Sunday morning. The signs were already up for all the beer that wouldn't be for sale. We got a table, ordered lunch and several pints. The food was great, the beer excellent, but it was just so obvious that they really didn't give a damn whether we were there or not. I guess that's their thing and it probably didn't matter. They have a huge following so good for them. I'm glad we went but once was probably enough.

It starts with the wonderful aroma of smoking meats in the parking lot... continues with excellent beer selections, and finishes with delectable food that tastes just like the smell in the parking lot... the tacos & brisket sandwich are phenomenal, and the fried cheese curds with house pickled vegetables are some of the best I've had (even against Wisconsin and Oregon creameries). Their in house chef know what he's doing, and I wish I lived closer, I'd be here all the time!

One of the coolest tap rooms you will ever visit. Death metal, amazing food ( try the scotch egg and the Ramen), and $5 for an imperial pint of Zombie Dust. It is all assigned seating, even the bar, so there is no standing around.

Went on a Friday night so there was a wait. We were told 20-25 min so o figured I soulful go buy a couple cases of gumballhead to take home while I waited. As I'm walking back from me car I got a text letting me know or table was ready. ..only about 10 min wait. I've heard bad things about the service here and I didn't experience any of that. ..much the opposite for me. I thought the service was outstanding and even though they were busy the servers had no problem taking the time explaining a new beer to me or the food on the menu. Beers were outstanding and came out quick and the food was even better (try the wings. .best ever! ) overall my experience there was outstanding and I can't wait to go back again. Being in indy that means a long drive but worth it on the way to a cubs game or visit family in chicago.

This place is great and lives up to all the hype. They can't make a bad beer, and love being able to try a lot of their coveted beers on tap; which, in my opinion, is the best way to have a beer. Food was good. Staff is good and knowledgeable. Worth the hour wait to get in on a busy Friday night.

Went for Dark Lord Day so a bit skewed, but enjoyed it a lot. Fun festival, very good beers available for purchase in the brewpub and out, a very cool place. Love the metal influences, looking forward to going back on a "normal" day.

Awesome place, all kinds of cool kitsche all over the walls, almost intentionally kept really small. Quality top notch beers. Service can be spotty, again, intentionally kept sparse to keep that cool kind of high demand at times. They know people love their product.

Selection usually has 1-3 one off's you can't get in bottles. Great merch, hopefully you can get some bottles of hoppy stuff.

The waiting staff is a little too laid back, and the service wasn't all that great. They have a huge beer selection on tap and bottled, I've loved three floyds for years now.

Always busy and jumping, food is better than most, loud but what a mecca for craft beer fans. They recently remolded. Artwork on the walls were something I remember going ten years ago. I usually have a designated driver if I stay awhile. Go when they open.

I parked under a sign called Distillery and felt totally lost being out of state. The doors were ajar, but it looked like it was in a state of construction, however inside was an operating bottling line. Fortunately, a construction worker pointed me over to the pub around the corner. The pub is small, has lots of decorations, was crowded for a Tuesday afternoon, and had blaring heavy metal, not death metal, but pretty dark. There were lots of friendly employees providing good service. I ate a pulled chicken sandwich, which was fantastic and drank a Yum Yum since I had to get back on the road. Yum Yum is a good session beer. Around the corner from the bar (can walk through the inside) is the Kiosk like a takeout counter at a pizza shop. There, I picked up my precious two cases of Zombie Dust and a few assorted bottles. In summary, it is a cozy, warm, metal pub with great food, not too crowded on a weekday, and an efficient kiosk takeout counter for their beers. Oh, by the way, the tap selection, posted on their website, and kept current, is freaking phenomenal. This is the kind of place you wish you had in your neighborhood.

Had a blast at 3 Floyds. Had about a 40-minute wait to get into the pub on an early Friday afternoon, but it was worth the wait. The atmosphere is metal geek with a touch of beer nerd. The service was friendly and knowledgeable and fast. The food was great. Don't skip dessert. Crazy good thyme sponge cake with sage ice cream. And the beers, of course, were fabulous. I'd been looking forward to this for some time and it did not disappoint.
There was a line for the to-go beers but it moved along fast and efficiently and the selection, including Zombie Dust, was excellent.

Looks like a 16 yr old metal head's basement room at their parents house. Has geeky action figures, records, posters thrown up all over the wall. Weird movies playing without sound in the background (last time it was an unidentified Stallone movie?) and always some metal playing from speakers overhead. Not my personal style but a very enjoyable, unique experience that I certainly appreciate. Apparently these guys are known for being jerks but my 2 trips here have been nothing but a pleasure - freindly staff, very knowledgeable and quick service made it really enjoyable. As a midwest native (West of Chicago, family in WI, MN and living in IN) before moving to Colorado, one thing I love me is some cheese curds and let me tell you their fried cheese curds are amazing, seriously amazing and a perfect pair with a zombie dust, permanent funeral or ant of their hoppy offerings. Great, great brewery to experience. Really weird and geeky and expect a wait, no matter the time or day.

Easy drive from Chicago (little more than an hour if you miss the worst traffic) & would recommend to any beer nerd visiting the Windy City to set aside a night for a visit. Place is modern & clean with a metal vibe (not really a metalhead ...but it wasn't objectionable). Service was friendly & prompt. Excellent pub grub ...well, probably unfair to call it that ...certainly a step up from that. You all know they brew fantastic stuff ...and their beer list was excellent & included a handful of nice guest taps. I've definitely added Dark Lord Day to my beer trip bucket list. But 3F is worth a stop any old day of the year.

FFF was the first stop of my Great American Craft Beer Road Trip (spanning from NJ to CA) and I could not have picked a better place to stop first.

First of all, everybody that's worth their salt knows that FFF makes outstanding beer. Everybody and anybody that has ever tried to purchase or obtain FFF beer by other means also knows that FFF is like the most popular girl in high school -- they're hot, they're popular, everybody wants to get in bed with them, and boy do they know it.

But despite all that, Three Floyds does exactly everything they're known for and more; it's imperative to note that unless you're a resident of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin or any other region that gets FFF on tap, you have never truly tried Zombie Dust. I don't care if you got it delivered to you from the Brewpub just a week after it was bottled, or even three days after it was magically filled into their signature "Skeletor" bottles -- the Zombie is a completely different animal on draught, unlike any American Pale Ale I've ever had.

Another thing that I truly appreciate about FFF is that they really seem to live up to their "It's Not Normal" slogan. When you go into most Breweries/Brewpubs nowadays you expect something typically American like hotdogs, pizzas, burgers, and maybe sometimes a nice salad that supposedly pairs well with your beer. At the FFF brewery, they serve New American cuisine -- My Zombie Dust and Alpha King that evening was accompanied by Octopus Bulgogi Salad, and a Venison and Bacon Hotdog from the visiting Danish Hotdog Deli Pop-up, Johns Hotdog Deli.

If you love beer or love food--which should be everyone on yelp--definitely stop by FFF if you have the time and means to do so. Oh, and for all you die-hard ZD fans -- if you don't see a yellow landscape-oriented sign that says "NO ZD" on the left side of the entrance, you're probably good for the trip.

Great bar and brewery, staff was very inviting and knowledgeable. The vibe is a little different horror flicks are playing instead of the usual sports. Food was great and the staff help pair each order with a beer or a taster. Overall great time had by all in my group.

I am going to take the low road and start by retorting to the overly critical/egocentric reviews about this place in the way that every service industry worker wishes they could respond: 3F is a VERY popular brewery, and they don't need YOUR business. So if you're going to complain about the wait, or the 'limited' food options, or the beer, or the music, save everyone the trouble and GTFO. 3F is doing their pub the way they want to, and owe nothing, absolutely nothing, to us. They literally have lines out the door, they have the demand, you are lucky that they even cares about us enough to include a tasting room, much less put some thought into it. You don't like their food options/too pricey? You're probably a cheapskate, and boring, and will never get a second date. You don't like their beer? Fine, give up your seat to someone who will appreciate it, and on the way out ask yourself if you are being overly critical just because they are popular, you damn hipster. Don't like the music? Bring earplugs/stop being close-minded. If this place is not your style that is A-OK, but setting your own expectations, and when they don't come true, whining about it on the internet is ugly, narrow-minded, nonconstructive, and petty.

-Very popular, but worth a moderate wait.
-You can burn some time by browsing the merchandise, which is exclusively badass. Cases of beer to go as well. No growler fills, I don't believe.
-Loud music and TV's playing cult classics, but nothing is so distracting that you can't have a conversation.
-Service was good, surprisingly quick for how busy it is.
-Beer. You should know about it. I agree with those who say it is overrated, but that is not 3F's fault, and it is usually pretty solid. Some good non-distributed brews, and a cask, too.
-2 guest taps. Pretty sure liquor is also available.
-Food. Really good, and inventive. It was not an afterthought; there are trained professionals back there. Wish I could have had the watermelon-coffee chicken wings (they were out), but everything I did get to taste was very good. Really, really impressed with the brisket tacos. Smokey AF. Good stuff, worth some sampling.

This place is assertive. As I said in my rant, they are doing what they want, and if one can't appreciate that, they are a bad, immoral person. Still, 3F are not so assertive that anyone who isn't close-minded can't have a good time. Great for beer geeks, great for foodies, great for metalheads, and great for anyone with a personality. Highly recommended, even if it requires a few hour's drive.

Of all the breweries I have been to this is my least likely to recommend to anyone. All hype in my opinion. Had to wait an hour outside before getting a table. The food menu lacked anything I wanted to spend money on (the fries were the cheapest thing at $8). The only flight you could get was of the four main beers you can actually buy in a 6 pack. There was loud metal music and a subtitled kung fu movie on all the TVs. I had one (very disappointing) beer and left.

Waited over 2 hours, which can be expected at FF. Came for a tour but was told, sorry no tour didnt you check facebook. No I didn't, I checked their website which only said no tours the following 2 weeks. Server was very cold and was obvious we didn't matter to them. There were 100 more people waiting to take our table.

Great place to eat some interesting food and try almost all FFF beer on tap. The place is rather small so be prepared to WAIT. We had a boring 2 hour wait for a table. There is nothing we know of to do around the area and had a strict 5 minute limit to get to our table once called that it was ready. We weren't going to wait 2 hours and miss the 5 minute window so we stuck around there. Very busy place but the quality and selection of the beer was amazing! If you're a FFF lover, give it a shot.

I have been here three times now and have not a single bad moment. I usually arrive between 1 and 2pm and the longest wait I have had was maybe 20 minutes. They play metal music of course but at a volume where you can still carry conversation and here yourself think.

I havent seen any of the rudeness from staff that others have mentioned. None at all. I wouldnt say that the staff fakes niceness too like many others in the service industry, but rudeness.. none. Everyone has been nice and helpful when ordering and bringing beers/food to the table. My first two visits, I sat at a table and near the end of each beer, my waiter was there to take my order for another brew. If you have questions, they have answers. I sat at the bar during my third visit and the bartender was great. Any time I said thank you, he gave me an earnest your welcome and looked me in the eye and was respectful.

The food is absolutely amazing. If you come here thinking it will be generic bar food, you will be blown away. These guys have mastered pork. If there is a pork dish, you can feel safe ordering it. I have had the brisket tacos and the pork shoulder sandwich and both were top notch. The food comes out hot and actually comes out to the table pretty quickly. My friends and I sampled many of the appetizers during one visit and each one was fantastic. The Scotch Egg is one of the best dishes I have ever had. I have yet to try one of the more expensive entrees but that is because I am usually there early in the afternoon. The sandwiches and what they call "small plates" are plenty while you have a few beers.

The tap list is always extensive. Pub only beers are available in nice quantity. During my trips I have had the Cherron cherry Gose, Black Flame imperial stout, Precious porter, Alien Porter, Skull'Ole sour, Wigsplitter and Battle Priest which ultimately hit distribution, but were nice finds on tap. Each beer is served in its appropriate glass and you can get a feel for what to expect as far as what you will spend as most beers, with the exception of very few, are all $5 regardless of size or choice. Come on.. a $5 imperial pint of Zombie Dust? Deal.

The take home beer kiosk is a magical area. It doesnt always have exclusive brews, but when they do.. amazing. I was able to get a 2014 Dark Lord two days after 2015 DLD, Wigsplitter before it hit stores, Black Flame imperial stout, Battle Priest, and Drunk Monk (my biggest regret from any of my trips was not buying an entire case of Drunk Monk.

Also, this is the most underrated aspect of what these guys do. Their WEBSITE IS THE BEST ASSET. The website updates the kiosk menu in almost real time. You know exactly what is there and when. If you wake up and see something you absolutely want, hurry and get there because these guys will have it taken off their board at the pub and off the website as it happens. Very very useful tool for seeking out their beers. For as much hate as Floyds gets, this is a wonderful thing they do for the customer. Today when they put Conquistador de la Muerte in the kiosk, it was broadcast on their website and social media and a friend was able to go get me one. I absolutely love that they do this and I hope whoever runs their website never stops his/her great work.

Im not sure what people expect when they come here. I have found the complaints in other reviews unfounded, but of course, I cant speak for others. Bottom line: Dont expect to be pampered. There is no waiting area which I have seen mentioned as negative for some. There is limited parking, but you can park your car anywhere in the entire industrial park. Is walking 3 minutes really a big deal? The beer is top notch, the food is amazing, the service is just fine. The overall experience has been more than satisfactory each time I have visited and I am going back in two days. I live four hours away and hope to make this a monthly or bi-monthly travel.

Okay, so here's the rundown on 3Floyds.

You will wait in line, so be smart and be prepared. Don't show up at 4:30 on a holiday-weekend Saturday and expect to get a seat in 15 minutes (made this mistake, will not make it again). I've found that the best time to go (I've been here 9 times now and can't wait for #10) is on a weekday around lunch. Personally, I worked this visit into a vacation and had a great experience - waited in line for less than 10 minutes on a Thursday around 1:00 and got a great seat.

The most underrated part of the experience is the food - it's far above regular pub food, and I'd probably go for that reason even if I couldn't have beer. Be adventurous and try something new off the menu. The in-house chefs are very skilled and they don't make a bad offering.

As far as the beer is concerned, it depends on your mindset going into the brewpub. If you're someone that thinks 3Floyds is overrated, you're not going to have the best time. After all, this is a small brewpub and there's nothing there to really blow you away. In my opinion, the appeal is in the atmosphere - these are folks that just flat-out love beer and have created their own shrine to it. If you enter with an open mind, I've found that the selection of beers on tap is EXTRAORDINARY. It's like they customize the beer menu so that everyone can have a taste of every different style. Usually there's about 10-12 offerings from 3Floyds along with 2-3 guest drafts from other breweries (if you don't find something to your liking). Still not satisfied? 3Floyds has you covered, with an immense selection of bottles that even the pickiest of beer drinkers would find accommodating - my favorite is that they always have PBR available!! Reinforces for me that their brewpub is a place for everyone, and you'll never be looked down on if you don't know a ton about beer.

Can't say enough good things about this place. I live in Cincinnati and the drive to northern Indiana for this place is ALWAYS worth it. This is where I take my very best friends and family for unforgettable experiences. This is where my best friend asked me to be the best man in his wedding. The place has earned a special place in my mind, and I'm confident that it's the #1 all-around brewpub experience in the United States, bar none.

Food is great. Selection is great, including many things that are draft only. Zombie Dust is always available. More seating than you would expect makes for reasonable wait times. Overall never disappointing and worn the trek from wherever.
