Yup. All 5's. It really is that awesome. The food was insane. The beer lived up to its hype, and then some. The server we had was chill. I even saw a sticker from a really small brewery by my house behind the bar at three floyds (Bad Brewing Co. in Mason, MI).

Okay, so here's the rundown on 3Floyds.

You will wait in line, so be smart and be prepared. Don't show up at 4:30 on a holiday-weekend Saturday and expect to get a seat in 15 minutes (made this mistake, will not make it again). I've found that the best time to go (I've been here 9 times now and can't wait for #10) is on a weekday around lunch. Personally, I worked this visit into a vacation and had a great experience - waited in line for less than 10 minutes on a Thursday around 1:00 and got a great seat.

The most underrated part of the experience is the food - it's far above regular pub food, and I'd probably go for that reason even if I couldn't have beer. Be adventurous and try something new off the menu. The in-house chefs are very skilled and they don't make a bad offering.

As far as the beer is concerned, it depends on your mindset going into the brewpub. If you're someone that thinks 3Floyds is overrated, you're not going to have the best time. After all, this is a small brewpub and there's nothing there to really blow you away. In my opinion, the appeal is in the atmosphere - these are folks that just flat-out love beer and have created their own shrine to it. If you enter with an open mind, I've found that the selection of beers on tap is EXTRAORDINARY. It's like they customize the beer menu so that everyone can have a taste of every different style. Usually there's about 10-12 offerings from 3Floyds along with 2-3 guest drafts from other breweries (if you don't find something to your liking). Still not satisfied? 3Floyds has you covered, with an immense selection of bottles that even the pickiest of beer drinkers would find accommodating - my favorite is that they always have PBR available!! Reinforces for me that their brewpub is a place for everyone, and you'll never be looked down on if you don't know a ton about beer.

Can't say enough good things about this place. I live in Cincinnati and the drive to northern Indiana for this place is ALWAYS worth it. This is where I take my very best friends and family for unforgettable experiences. This is where my best friend asked me to be the best man in his wedding. The place has earned a special place in my mind, and I'm confident that it's the #1 all-around brewpub experience in the United States, bar none.

This place is amazing. I have been here multiple times and always can not wait to go back. The food is great. Always get the short rib burger, it's just that good! And nothing needs to be said for the beer. Everyone knows it is AMAZING! Always great stuff on tap that you cant get anywhere else. Experiencing FFF on DLD is a must for any beer lover.

no need to google the definition of perfection. it is here. the combination of the delicious beer with pizza, fear and loathing being projected on a wall, and constant grindcore music playing was absolutely divine. i want to crawl into the wall and live there. we were seated right away, and the staff was awesome. after it was done we walked a few steps over to get a shit ton of bottles to take back to michigan with us. it was such a great time

Perfection !!! Top rated microbrewery in America. Can't find anything I would EVER change. Robert the Bruce is the best beer ever created. I love beer, but this one is perfection bottled. Great fun staff and growlers to go... Heaven on earth !!! Munster IN is just across the border into Indiana from the Chicago area and 60 miles from my house but the drive is minor compared to the reward once you are there. If you love beer you must put this on your Bucket List !!

My only wish is that they would put their kegs into The Beer Market in Lincolnshire IL more often. Lots of 3Floyd's lovers there but not much availability from the brewery so far so 3Floyd's guys.... help me out here!!!

I've been up here many times and finally gonna get around to review it...

This is like a dive bar, biker hang out, and tattoo parlor rolled into one. Of course, some of the best beer in the Midwest is available ontap, so that always means a good time.

The food is much better and fancier than I expected from the decor-- though some dishes seemed high priced.
The tap list is nice-- usually about 8 to 10 FFF handles and the same number of visiting ones.
The prices for beer are about average for a brewpub, and it is tough to beat brewery fresh dreadnaught.

Growlers and various merchandise items are available for sale. The waiters have always seemed friendlier and more approachable than the bartenders.

I consider this one of the best breweries in the US. And that is purely based on the beer. The brewpub is a beautiful thing.

Brewery meets coffee house. Couches, funky artwork (think tatoo art), a projector movie (With no sound), and room for maybe 30. Not quite punk rock, but close.

Food is awesome and unexpected. Try the steamed mussels. They'll make your eyes rolls back in your head.

Beer is better. There are some beers they only serve on tap. They had a sublime Belgian on tap that was just amazing.

Go there. Try the beer. Eat the food. Take the tour (on saturdays - Get the EARLY).

10 out of 10.

I think I have to give the Three Floyds brewpub an all-5 review. We stopped (at my urging) while on the way back from a Chicago trip. I wanted to go mainly for the beer, although there are no take-away sales on Sunday (Indiana law), but we ended up stopping for dinner, too. By the end of dinner, everyone in our group of 8 was raving about the whole experience.

The brewpub itself is a little hard to find, but that lends to its charm. Once you drive you way onto the back streets of an industrial park, you're there. Unassuming building - plenty of parking out front.

They had a big selection of their beer on tap, as well as some guest taps. Amongst our group, we order about six different beers and passed them around: Rabbid Rabbit, Alpha Kong, Topless Witch (one of the best porters I've ever tasted), Pride & Joy, Gumballhead, and Robert the Bruce. All the beer was fantastic.

Service was excellent - they were willing to seat and serve a group of 8 instantly. Everything came out quickly, they answered all of our questions, and were willing to split the bill.

The food really surprised us with its excellence. I expected standard pub fare, but it went above and beyond. The salads were great. I had an excellent reuben sandwich. The fries - which were cut thin and generously salted - came with a curry ketchup and horseradish aeoli. We also tried their beer cheese bread. Everyone made comments about how good their meals were.

I will gladly stop by Three Floyds any time I'm passing through Munster. Amazing beer, top-notch food, great staff.

Okay so if your going to three floyds you know what to expect, and it does not disappoint! Expect to get there at least 20min before they open on weekends otherwise you'll have to wait outside because they are so small. I actually like that they do this because unlike some snobs on here I'm not fat and lazy and actually know what to expect. Since they keep it not crowded it's very enjoyable, I can actually sit down, relax and enjoy my food/beer. The atmosphere is metal/brewery themed. It reminded me of Kuma's comer in Chicago which also is very small and you have to wait to get in if you don't show up right when it opens. I found the staff to be very courteous and nice. I feel like if you go in there well mannered and without you head held up high expecting people to wait on you hand and foot then you will receive some of the best service in the world. The food there is PHENOMENAL. Now this is not some five star quizene but it is some of the best bar food I have ever seen. And the presentation is GREAT. The selection is awesome, they have 3floyds beers you can't get anywhere else and they allow you to pick up cases of whatever you want. I got a case of Zombie dust a case of gumballhead and 2 bottles of behemoth. Over great place with a great and friendly staff I will be going there for many years to come. And for all you nay-Sayers out there I say get you head out of your ass and stop loveing the smell of your own farts.

My wife have now been to 3 Floyds twice now. Both times we have went on a Thursday. My wife and I love the food. It is not bar food, but rather eccentric and gourmet. We have tried the wings (excellent tastes like bacon instead of wings), the poontang fries as my wife calls them (they are wonderful probably my favorite thing I have had there), the duckfat popcorn (more like caramel corn), the mac and cheese excellent, the steak sandwich which is excellent. All the food is moderately priced but we live in Chicago area so that is relative. My wife who doesn't eat salads and is skinny says the food is world class. I would have to agree. The service is excellent and we have yet had to wait a significant amount of time. The decor is really cool.

The beers are reasonably priced an excellent selection is on tap. Zombie Dust is $5 for a pint, blot out the son is excellent, had Wigsplitter on Nitro which was quite different than it in the bottle. It is well worth the trip and all the hype. I will say that I have yet to have a bad beer from them, as even it is not my flavor or taste of beer that I always understand what they are doing. My favorites that I have had from them are Zombie Dust, Blot out the Sun, Wigsplitter, Gumballhead, Backmasken, and Alpha Kong.

Went again for the third time on a Friday it was even more crowded. We waited for 20-30 minutes this time. Okay I have a new favorite food there. The cheese curds they are just the bomb. Hands down the best thing I had there so far. Second would be the Pooontang fries, third green beans. Had the burger also and I was not really that impressed by the death burger was overly salty and I like the burger. My wife only let me get one beer and I tried the guest tap this time it was C.R.E.A.M something or another, but it was unimpressive (not my taste) should have went for the drunken elf by 3 Floyds as I have never tried that one from them. All 3 floyds beers are good even if it is not your taste. I just understand what they are doing with the beer. I also think the food is the same way. Have to give a big shout out to them for their excellence. I would prefer that they would play a little less death metal but hey I only had one beer this time. My wife however was head banging at a 8 minute death metal song which after 9 years of marriage I didn't even know she liked metal that much! LOL!

Place can be loud with metal, but a lot of fun with unbelievable food for a bar/brewery. My wife has also ordered the lamp meatballs which were really interesting, and red snapper, and also the green beans which were in cumin and has a sauce of yogurt (they were actually quite awesome).

2013 boys weekend to Chicago from Toronto with stops in Marshall (Dark Horse), Kalamazoo (Bell's), Grand Rapids (Founders, HopCat) and then 3F. Stopped for Sat lunch at 3F. Beers are obviously awesome, no Zombie at the Kiosk that day but grabbed Dreadnought, Alpha, Gumballhead and Artic Panzer so a fine haul. Wonderfully eclectic crowd in line, had a great talk with some conspiracy theorist hunter guys on their way to fishing and a yuppie couple who were probably taking the Audi for a trip to a Republican convention. Everything you can imagine and in the words of Cyrus from the Warriors "Nobody is wasting nobody". Very fine line up. Short wait to get into brew pub and the food was somewhat surprisingly really good. Decor was great, i am not going to lie I tried to buy the Ultimate Warrior jacket they had framed on the wall (this was before his untimely passing. RIP Warrior). They had Zombie on tap which was awesome. Everyone should visit this place and if you live in Ontario and have 4 days I highly recommend this excursion....

No question, these are the beer gods of the universe, if not the suburbs of Munster. You won't get a bad product from them. They attained cult status years ago. Give a FFF beer to a prohibitionist, and and watch them forsake their vows!

We stopped by August of 2014 and there was a 1-2 hour wait on a Saturday, nowhere to wait but a parking lot so we left. I gave it 5/5 because I like the beer. If you can go on a weekday, do that.

I wanted beer, I wanted metal and I wanted beards. I got everything I asked and a t-shirt taboot.

The atmosphere was a mix of horror, comics and metal. Heavenly. I heard an old Butthole Surfers album and a High on Fire album while I was there. Not my favs but I don't think I've ever heard either at a bar before. Our server was attentive, knowledgable and had proud viking beard.

3F had all their current offerings on tap which is enough to earn a 5. They have a guest bottle list which may be nice if you're a Munster inhabitant but being from MA it was merely cute. We are are here for 3F, were are here to dominate.

The food was phenomenal and one of the best meals we had during our whole mid-west trip. This includes being visits to Michelin rated and similar high end restaurants. For apps we had beef jerky - why don't more places do that? As a fitness meathead sometimes I just want a cheap, easy protein option to go with my beer - in house made jerky is perfect. My favorite part of our meal was the jerky but my wife liked a flight of ice creams that came paired with 3F beer - I believe coriander with Dreadnaught, Maple with Robert the Bruce and Orange with Zombie Dust.

As with most things mid-western 3F was dirt cheap. For an app, 5 beers, 2 entrees, and dessert it was under $100. That's silly cheap.

So good the only other times I've been so beerily blessed have been at Ebenezer's.

World class beer, world class food, world class beards, world class tats. Easy ride from Illinois if you can survive the highway of death(Indiana toll road). If it snows good luck! Just hop in your V8 interceptor and you'll be ok. They don't refill bombers so don't even try it!

70 mile drive each way does not deter me from making the trek twice a week, or more. This is one of my favorite places on the planet, and the mussels steamed in Gumball Head--with bacon-- are the best seafood item this East-coaster has ever had in the midwest, no exception, full stop.

My wife hates beer and loves this place. Last week, we had farmers' market radishes with herb butter as an appetizer for two bucks. If that's not Chef activism! Love something so much that you want everyone to try it whether they're likely to order it or not. The beef the burgers are made of is fed spent grain that made your Alpha, Dreadnaught, or Gumballhead, and these guys know how to make food that not only tastes like food but that helps sustain a community and builds a community around not only craft brewing but sustainable agriculture, local food, and organic small farm living.

When I get to Three Floyds, I want to hug the servers and bartenders and hear about their week. I'll probably end up institutionalized; I know they must think I'm crazy and wonder why I say hello to everyone. Go there. Reward yourself. Alpha King really is better on tap, and anything I've tasted has just been so well presented and offered with honest craftsmanship and care. If this is the postindustrial future, I'm all for it!

I went on a friday afternoon in the middle of the summer. The atmosphere is perfect for those who are like me and don't take life too seriously. It's fun with lots to look at all over the pub. The employees fit right in. As far as the service goes, I was immediately greeted by the bartender who poured me a 219. Great beer but didn't get to try the food this time around. I also picked up a couple cases and some bombers from the store next door. The cashiers were also very friendly. The pricing on beer to go was extremely reasonable. $35 for a case of Zombie Dust and $10 for a bomber of Dreadnaught with no sales tax.

Walked into "holy diver" cranked on vinyl, the super friendly bar tender poured me a tall zombie dust and I was in heaven. Had the brisket tacos with another zombie dust and finished it off with a gumball. Great vibe even better beer and good people. Will come back anytime I am in the area. I highly recommend.

Wow after all this time it was worth the wait! The brew pub is awesome! I will admit that I might just be a little biased as a loyal Three Floyds patron, just kidding, this place rocks! As soon as you walk into the pub, you instantly feel at home. When you sit at one of the many couches it feels like having a beer in your buddies basement, only your buddy has 20 kinds of amazing beer on tap and there are about 75 people around.

I won't even get into the beer here, just look at their many reviews, you will quickly get the point.

The food is top notch, I have tried everything from the buffalo calamari to the royal with cheese to the pizza and I have never been disapointed.

One last thing, the service is also great. Bonnie you kick ass!

FFF has been described as a "cult." I have drunk deeply of the kool-aid.

The honest truth is that you're either going to dig FFF, or you're not. If you have a problem with any of the following: people with lots of body mods (tattoos and piercings), metal music, weird 60s/70s "exploitation" type films, dark/evil themed decor and beer names, or "honest, but not Applebee's stupid-fake-friendly" type service... FFF might not be your kind of place.

I happen to like all of those things, so FFF is my kind of place. I live in Lafayette; it's a 95 mile drive to FFF. My wife and I still go fairly often. (More than we should!)

The food is awesome. A brewpub with sweetbreads on the menu? Bone marrow? House-made beef jerky? Plus FFF's kick-ass small batch beers on tap? HELL YES. Sign me up!

The guest beers also don't suck.

(And no, Steve, we're not going to talk smack about FFF on Yelp... :D )

Three Floyd's is honestly the best brewery I have been to. Most brewers have a flagship beer that is indicative of their best style of beer. It is kind of natural to be better at one or two styles of beer over others...the difference is that 3 Floyd's not only does every style well, they are also extremely innovative. There is no question that every brewery sometimes misses, but the ratio of hits to misses is amazing!

Wow! This place lives up to it's motto "It's not normal". The atmosphere was great. The location is a perfect oasis amidst several commercial, light industrial, buildings. I had thought I was in the wrong area, but then I was welcomed by the "Alpha King" with a keg under arm (a sculpture at the entrance). Walked into the brewpub and was just spinning with excitement. The beer logo artwork helped light the place up. Couches, tables and a small bar made for a cozy getaway. There are over 20 taps that include the house beers, plus several other guest beers. They offer belgian, american craft and other beers on tap and in bottle. They offer nearly all of their beers in 12oz or 22oz bottles. The staff was really helpful and were happy to talk beer. If you like really good beer, you won't be disappointed here.
The food was amazing! The Scotch Egg (hard boiled egg wrapped in sausage and panko crumbs and deep fried) is served with a spicy garlic aioli and was excellent. I followed up with the meatloaf sandwich, which was very good. It was served on a glazed pretzel roll (I think the glaze was maple syrup) and a side of hand cut fries. I couldn't stay long, but I would definitely make a trip to Three Floyds again. If your in the area this is a MUST on your list of places to visit.

What a great place!
The beer is exceptional, so fresh! Bottle shop is efficient and yet with very polite and respectful service.
The food was really good, the price was a bit high, but they seem to take pride and use quality ingredients.
And right next to an Ultimate Warrior bomber jacket in a picture frame, there was Rowdy Roddy Pipper starring in 'They Live'!!
