Whale's Tale Pale Ale is an English style pale ale named in honor of Nantucket's whaling history. Wonderfully balanced with Maris Otter malt, hints of crystal malt and generously hopped with East Kent Goldings, it has a rich honey color and fruity hop aroma.

Has a nose that bears more than a passing resemblance to fresh-baked bread: heavy aromas of toasted grains, yeast, wheat, even a slightly burnt crust. Some nice fruit flavors lie just beneath, with emphases on apricots and berries.
On the tongue, the brew is a good mix of fruits and grains, being almost cereal-like in its mixture of toasted grains with apricots and berries. The hops quickly enter the scene, bringing a halt to the breakfast cereal comparison, but adding a nice light bitter layer of grapefruit and pine. The rest of the mouthful is slightly heavier on hops than grains, but some wheat flavors still come through. The aftertaste is largely hop-based. Subsequent sips lose almost all of the berry and fruit flavors, and the ale becomes hops and grains. Mouthfeel is very light--close to water--and carbonation is set at light to medium-light.
Overall, a decent ale, but I wish a few more handfuls of malt had been added to try and keep the flavors present throughout subsequent mouthfuls.

Decent beer. Could use less hops but otherwise it's excellent.

Another beauty of a beer, slick and creamy, sticky lacing all the way around and down. Light malty aroma, taste more malt capped with a touch of bitterness. Very enjoyable.

Cisco Whale's Tale English Pale Ale, 5.6% - this is really good, and such a pretty beer! Deep, dark, fruity hops and crystal malts make for a nice break from grapefruit and flowers! Cheers!

Clear amber appearance with an average size off white head and decent lacing. Earthy, herbal, bready aroma paired with a touch of spice. Subtle, rounded hop flavors matched against a strong malt backbone. Bitterness is evident but not sharp. Medium bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel.
