From notes 7/21/12: Pours a clear orange gold producing 1.5 fingers of finely bubbled, frothy, off-white head which leaves a nice pasty lacing as it recedes. Aroma is biscuit, caramel, bready pale malt with citrus and pine notes. Taste is similar with vanilla following the piney hops. The finish is light, peppery and bitter.

Had from the source at Cisco, this was the Nitro tap version so very smooth with a great feel overall. Golden look with a slightly hoppy finish. Haven't had the non-nitro version.

08/28/13 From bottle at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Unusual is the first thing that comes to mind. Few reference points available. Assertive flavor. Balanced bitter/sweet tastes. Medium body. I don't find the creator's 'citrusy' finish but being bottle aged & seeing no date I assume I'm in uncharted waters here. All in all an interesting brew. Not one I would seek out, but I realize the caveats involved in this venture...all part of the quest.
PART II It turns out all of the 'character" was hanging out at the bottom of the bottle. At a slightly warmer temperature this took on the character of a strong Belgian ale. Yeasty & balanced. Like really good friends, it sometimes takes some getting used to.
