Notes / Commercial Description:
Finally an American IPA from us. This beautiful red-orange ale has a full malty body balanced by a fruity apricot/grapefruit nose. Mounds of dank Summit hops in the whirlpool and dry-hop additions provide a delicious finish to this East meets West-coast ale.

Pours a translucent golden hue. Not much aroma. The flavor isn't full but there is some nice grapefruit character. Some stick bitterness on the finish. This is a nice west coast style IPA.

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a murky amber color with a large white head. The aroma is full of hops, fruit, malt & yeast. Basically, a chemistry set of all things great in beer. The taste is full of hops and fruit. It has an interesting acidic aftertaste.

A great every day IPA. Steady and mid-path.

A: Pours a cloudy amber color with a meringue head that lasts and laces a little.

S: Pleasing blend of caramel malt and piney hops, dank, lots of grass and spring herbs.

Taste: The balanced malt and hop favor the piney, floral hops, more citrus jam mid palate on bright, light toast.

Mouthfeel: Medium w lots of carbonation, cleansing, juicy finish.

O: A little dank, a little soapy, but mostly juicy and spring like. Straightforward and an every day kind of IPA.

Summit hops give off a "dank" smell, smell almost resembling the mosaic hop. Was expecting a bitter assault on the pallet but the taste was much more subdued. Super delicious and very drinkable. Bottled from somewhere in CT.

This was another good find while back home in MA. A nice American IPA that isn't overly hoppy to the point where it begins to taste like soap. It had great balance between malt, hop, and citrus. A great year-round beer that offers something for every season. Hope I start to find it around like I do Whale Tail.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy golden orangish color with an off-white head with nice retention and lacing. The aroma is malt and citrusy hops. The taste like the aroma is more on the balanced side with bright citrusy hops.

you can tastes the hops is it red hot? this is a white labeled beaut. the bottle looks cool and its nice and dry and fuckin crisp. its even got a little salt in the after birth. splitting this delight between two adventureers after a 430 smoke mesh is best. taste is I'm proved by drinking from a coffee mug. since you don't need to see what it looks like ins the the label on says what it looks like when in glass glassware. its good . this maybe should b a PSA for not writing beer reviews when your stoned. but maybe its the best thing to do on right now. ok i gotta go my room mate is playing the harry potter theme on his martini. good beer though.

This is my kind of IPA. Light in color, medium in body with the right combo of hops. A little citrus, a little pine, a little grass and just a hint of malts to hold everything together.

Had this on draft at the Pickle Jar in downtown Falmouth, Ma. It poured a pale yellow orange with a slight hoppy nose with some floral hints. Nothing really jumps out in the first taste a nice blend of the hops and the malt. A smooth drinking IPA. I'd probably order it again.

Pours a mostly clear golden color with white head. Pine, grass, and citrus on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with a slight hop bite.

This is a number one beer.
It pours a medium head. Great orange colour. Very hoppy and bitter but balanced by a good amount of malt. Loved its crispiness. Nice hoppy finish.
Will have more of it.

Bought a six-pack at Table and Vine in West Springfield, MA. Served in a goblet. The beer poured with a medium head and patchy lacing on the sides. The drink has a murky gold-orange appearance. Really zesty citrus smells with earthy/grassy tones. Bittersweet aftertaste with a mixture of lemon and orange flavors. Really good carbonation and a dry finish. Pretty good IPA.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a caramel/amber color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is floral, light citrus. Taste is lemony, medium hop bitterness, a bit of malts. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall, not a bad beer, but just feels a bit off and no up to the standard of this style.

Appearance: Pours hazy amber to red orange under a quickly dissipating 3” off white foam cap. Produces thin curtains of lace. Smell: Spice and herbal hops with biscuit and light fruit. Taste: Starts with fruit – peach, apricot and melon – over biscuit leading to a grapefruit rind bitterness. Mouthfeel: Creamy, medium body and carbonation. Overall: Refreshing and easy to drink.

A: Clear, golden, and tons of carbonation.
S: Lemon citrus and peel, maybe some honey
T: Huge lemon and orange citrus flavors. Some malty and bready sweetness.
F: The cabonation bubbles are noticeable on the swallow. Pithy biterness from peel. Sticky, sweet, and slightly warming.
O: Not overly complex but still solid. Super fresh and flavorful.

Had at Boston Logan in a bottle at Cisco pub. It was damned near awful. It was really disappointing. Just some musty muted hop flavor with no depth or balance from the malt bill. The nose was similar, not much going on, and what was going on struck me as stale. Shoulda had the Lagunitas at the other bar. I did not enjoy it and will not have it again.

This is mostly a reminder to myself to avoid Cisco if I see them again. I had been in another pub of theirs once and I recall it being very average, and I am all about supporting local beer everywhere if is is decent. This supposed IPA they gave me today was not decent. I can only hope that it was somehow degraded from what it was supposed to be.

LOOK: Beautiful Amber Orange/Carmel Color, Moderate 1/2 inch Beige Foamy Head that Fades after the first sip, Minimal Lacing that Dissipates Quickly

SMELL: Medium Body Biscuit Malt Aromas that mix well with the Fruity Scents

TASTE: Excellent Body, Equal Parts of Dryness, Fruitiness and Bitterness. Very well Balanced Flavors....Could have used just a touch more Hops.

FEEL: Smooth Refreshing and the Perfect amount of Carbonation.

OVERALL: Almost EVERYTHING you want in an IPA....Would have ranked even higher if it had a BIGGER Longer lasting Head and Better Lacing but whatever...I had to choose one of the "Big Five" to be lacking in..."LOOK" would be the one.... Awesome tasting IPA that will be near the TOP of my of my Favorites List....WELL DONE Cisco!!!!

Very good pale ale for those looking to make the leap to Pale Ales and IPAs. The hops are definitely there but not as prominent as in other beers of the same style. Distinct grapefruit that takes some of the bitterness away.

Overall a nice little IPA that can serve as a gateway for beer drinkers who are developing their palate.

Bottle poured into an antique pilsner glass

Clear, golden yellow orange liquid with a stead stream of carbonation. First pour creates a one finger foam lid with great lacings.

A lot of great floral hop notes off of the aroma

Good rush of floral hoppiness. Floral hops on the tip and middle of the tongue. Bitter after taste.

Moderate carbonation on the sip. Smooth .

Very nice east coast styled west coast iPa

Appearance- Copperish-amber colored, very thin head

Smell- Earthy, vegetal

Taste- Bitter, very metallic coppery taste

Mouthfeel- Overcabonated, prickly and astringent. Really not good.

Overall- Not at all what I look for in an IPA. Pretty much the opposite of what I think the style should be. Poorly done.

Maybe it's the summit hops, but I just don't like the taste of this brew. Dank is a good description for the hops. Not a lot going on here besides the grapefruit like bitterness. I bought a 12 pack and it's a bit of a chore to drink. Suffice to say, a 12 pack is enough to satisfy my curiosity of the brew.

A - Poured a deep and dark orange with a small head
S - Grapefruit and citrus and a little dank
T - A balance of the hops and malt. Fruit
M - Medium body with a bit of thickness.
O - This is a solid IPA its not a hop bomb or a malty one. Middle of the road.

A: Pours a clear amber with a creamy, thin off-white head.

S: Delicate aromas of biscuit, caramel, cream, and crackers are met by scents of herbs, grass, lemon rind, lime zest, kumquats, bitter orange, pine, spruce, and cedar.

T: Notes of lemon rind, lime zest, bitter orange, kumquats, pungent herbs, grass, pine, spruce, cedar, and minerals are subtly supported by cream, cracker, biscuit, and caramel notes. The finish is shorter than expected, displaying a clear balance of caramel, biscuit, cracker, cedar, herb, and bitter citrus flavors.

M: On the heavier side of medium, oddly dry, and more than a bit chalky in the mouth. Carbonation is incredibly forceful and never really seems to calm no matter how long the beer is held in the mouth. A bit of a challenge to polish off this bottle.

O: This is an interesting IPA, but I am not sure I can be moved to call it a good example of the style. It kind of straddles the fence between English and American versions of the style, and though it is not bad, it does not really capture the best aspects of either.

This has a very clean crisp appearance with a reddish orange color and an off white head of nice cloudy foam.

The nose is full on malt scents of tea leaf and barley grain. Bitter fruits of lemon, grapefruit and apricot come in as the scent finishes.

The flavors are near identical to the nose and the profile runs in the same order. The malt is full and the hops fruity but the bitterness is a little stronger by than my liking.

The feel is very easy and crisp but that bitter vein runs straight to the finish.

Overall this is a solid IPA with good complexity but it has a bitter theme that just dampens the experience.
