Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass. Good give off the cork with a big pop.

Deep peach orange body, roaring middle column of carbonation in the middle of the body, with side white small pinhead bubbles cascading the sides of the glass. Head is soapy and off white in color, but with lots of snapping carbonation and little retention, but manages to settle slowly, and stick with a good half finger puck. Real good looking brew.

Aroma is like classic white grape, slightly sweet. Big dry powdery wood notes, almost like sawdust. Fruit angle somewhere around faint sour lemon and big oily zest. Not much hint of barrel aging character from the bouquet so far, but a solid nose.

Palate has lots of tang. Big notes of lemon and citrus juice. Big zesty and oily coating tangy finish, with a hint of wet juiced body, and much toned down dryness. Big zesty notes on this, with oily bitter finish. Comes off with just a real balanced sweetness on the finish as well to match the sour tang. Minimal pucker, with a good simple malt depth. Moderate carbonation with just a bit of mouth play, and lip coating fruity oils.

It doesn't hint at thick round character, but the barrels (yeast?) really made the fruit and lemon notes just burst alive. Real good take on a wild ale brew.

Had this one for many years, finally consumed a 2011 bottle at 2018 March Madness.

Pours a yellow color, light brass color infused with that, 1/3" white head, carbonation appears to have held up well on this cork & caged then electrical taped beer that was laid on its side over the years. Aroma had a chardonnay like wine sourness to it, quite nice.

Taste led by a lemon, green apple and grape like sour taste notes. Nice light body helped along by the malt usage of wheat and barley. Looking back, this was a lot like some of the beer/wine hybrids going on these days. It might not have been the most "complex" beer of all time, but sometimes the best ones are on the less complex side. Its pretty clean, even after all those years on its side in the cellar. Had some light hay notes, could have believed this was one of those sour saisons given that aspect. Mild dry finish.

I enjoyed my entire pour. Nothing unique here, just a fun beer to drink while watching your boys in the tournie.

Unknown vintage, $9.99 on sale, yep good deal.
Cork pops quietly, pours pretty standard, thin layer of white foam and good clarity. No lace, webby surface skim.
Aroma is oaky, definitely some damp wood, with a light acidic presence. Smells pretty nice.
Taste is a little one-dimensional but pleasant, tart lemon and crabapple, lychee, malic and citric acid.
Juicy tart and puckering at first, with vague woody traces in the dry finish. Light bodied with a light effervescence.
Overall this is a pretty prototypical AWA, i've passed on it for years due to the price but it's pretty good.

2014 750ml split between three people, you may be better off with five or six -- straight up briny woody lemon juice sourness and lots of it. Notes of champagne/white wine. Very sour and rather simplistic but this is a pretty wonderful wild ale. Well-carbonated, bordering on too intense but really great interesting flavor coming through.

While I wish there was more oak taste, the beer itself is solid. A nice blend of sour and grassiness. Not too sweet, and not too tart.
