750ml bottle poured into an oversized snifter.
A: Pours black with a creamy tan head. Decent retention, broken webs of lacing.
S: Chocolate cookies, sugar cookies, vanilla bean, creamed coffee, nutty and woody scents, and cherry and plum darkfruit. Citric and herbal hop scents. Plastic and band-aid. This doesn't smell right.
T: Roasted tastes get acrid and smokey, a hit of citrus from the hops, powdery chocolate and some darkfruit, but there's also that horrible plasticy taste that overshadows it all. Very hot and boozy too. Rubbing alcohol, even. Something is very off with this beer.
M: Full and creamy mouthfeel. Smooth enough. Low carbonation. Mouthfeel is good.
O: I don't know what went wrong, but there is something very off with this beer. Tastes like lots of phenols. I'd be inclined to guess too high a fermentation temperature, or maybe sanitizer in the beer. Not sure what happened here, but this should not have been allowed out of the brewery.

Poured into pint glass from large format bottle.
Pours a midnight black with a toffee colored 3 inch head.
Bits of chocolate and coffee on the nose. Lots of sweet malts.
Lots of malt up front, with some lighter cherry and fruit favors.
Full bodied with a nice finish, touch of alcohol left on the tongue, but at 13.5 I was expecting that.

L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a black color and a thick consistency. There was an inch of foamy, tan-colored head that lasted an average amount of time. Pretty good lacing.
S: An okay aroma of coffee, malt, and dark fruit.
T: Tasted of a hood amount of coffee, plum, raisin, roasted malt, and a hint of licorice. A big, forceful flavor that doesn't quite pay off; it has its good points, but it wasn't pushed far enough. Not bad, though.
F: A well-carbonated beer with a smooth finish. Full-bodied.
O: This is another beer with some very good characteristics, but it never quite pushes as far as it should (an RIS should be powerful in all respects). Worth a try, though.

Surprised its not scored higher. Very dark. Great foamy thick coffee head. Thin lacing. Subtle fruit hints. Dark molass. Coffee and chocolate. Cant detect hops. Booze is masked well in taste. But comes through on the afterbreath. Good RIS though. Would buy a bottle.

2014 cellar pull. Flavor of chocolate and plum. Really thin for an RIS. Really boozy, should have pulled 6 months ago or sooner...My first and last Cisco beer. Definitely wasn't worth the $14.99. Damn Rhode Islanders....

Disappointing hot mess. I'll drink it, but I'm not pleased.

From tasting notes. Appearance: brilliant deep opaque chestnut, very finely bubbled 1” tan head. Smell: very fruity: raisins, prunes, sherry, some dark roast, coffee. Taste: chocolate, prune, some sherry notes, Mouthfeel: Exceptionally creamy chewy, full bodied, medium low carbonation Overall: The alcohol is a little hot – a little less heat or more malt might make this more drinkable.
