Amazing that this has both dominant bitter and sweet characteristics. A wonderful blend of hips and rye malt that's perfectly named!

I got this as part of a beer of the month, and I was really delighted. It has a medium color reminiscent of apple cider. The smell is light and fragrant. The head was not too thick and transformed quickly into a think layer on top. The mouthfeel was slightly creamy, and it had a nice rye flavor. Would drink again.

12oz bottle into goblet
unidentifiable date code
L- pours bronze color, with quickly dissapating off-white head, some lacing
S- rye dominated with some resin
T- peppery rye malt, followed by a mellowed sweetness, with a finish of resin-y hops, booziness, and the peppery rye again
F- medium-bodied, has a syrup-y feel, average carbonation
Overall this is a great representation of the style, I really like how the finish just explodes with flavor

12 oz bottle. Pours dark amber with tall, long lasting, fluffy off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of caramel malt, citrusy hops and ripe fruit. Body is full and slightly crisp. Citrusy, herbal hops, caramel malt and tropical fruit fill the mouth. Finish is long, huge, and dry. Outstanding brew.

Doesn't look, smell or taste like a DIPA. I understand that there can be a pretty wide range of taste within a particular style, but DIPA? Really? Not just an American strong ale or maybe even a barleywine? Oh well, you should definitely try it because this is one terrific beer. Rich malt flavor with nice bitterness and the rye really sets it off. Beautiful dark tea color. Substantial mouthfeel and just a touch of heat. One of my current favorite beers.

Very dark for an IPA with very little head. Tastes like dessert. Like brown sugar and tons of malt. I get how some feel this beer has barleywine qualities. Wish the hops stood out a little more prominently but still for all it is a fantastic brew.
