A: I'm going to make an attempt to factor in ocular fatigue with my judgement here. First, however, I must address the head. Poured right down the middle of a snifter only to produce a one finger head that dissipated fairly quickly, yet leaves a thin, yet pleasant cover over what remains in the glass. If you're searching for a nice frothy amber beer, perhaps look elsewhere. The high alcohol content does not allow head retention to be the highlighting factor of this brew's appearance. Lacing, however, is wonderful for the style. As far as color goes, the amber is present, but there is a certain brownness about it. Maybe hues of yellow. Fuck, the lighting in here is weird. Every time I look at the damn thing it's a different color. I swear it's fucking with me...

S: What the hell ever even is a pomdegramite? I smell fruit, but like a dirty fruit. Like, the fruit I've seen being sold in the dirty streets of a cloudy city in South America. Yeah, I'm sure it tastes good, but it kinda looks sketchy, ya barefooted bimbo. Nah, just kidding. It's alright. Not overpowering. Just how I like my infusions. The malt aroma is the second most present schmell. Pretty yummy. Pretty standard. After all, this is an amber ale.

T: Wait, what's the ABV on this sonuvabitch? That was my first question. The initial taste reveals very little as to the strength of this beer. Then the aftertaste kicks in, reassuring you that it's there, whilst sweeping any hint of the amber ale base under the rug and off the palate. (8.00%, bee tee dubs lol) If anything can be said about this beer, it's that it's ambitious. It wants to be better, but mixing pomegranate and an imperial amber is not exactly intuitive. It's ok.

M: It's smooth and very drinkable. This beer is light on the tongue and oh my shit fuck off spotify i dont want to upgrade to premium fuck a goat and leaves with grace. Usually, I equate ambers with being somewhat thicker, but the thinning effect of the alcohol must be considered.

O: My mother always says, "Remember there will always be those greater and lesser than yourself." Certainly the case with this beer. It's just ok. Props for brewing outside intuition, though. And more props for keeping the flavors from being overwhelming.

From notes 2/13/13: I'm not sure what this is in terms of style. The label says it's an Imperial Amber Ale. Beer Advocate says it is an American Strong Ale. Rate beer calls it a fruit beer. It sure taste fruity. I don't think I can pigeon hole it into a style and I'm not about to argue with experts with divergent opinions. It pours a hazy (clears as it warms), deep amber producing a single finger of frothy, off-white, short-lived head that recedes to leave little lace behind. Aroma is toasted malt and bread, caramel, light pomegranate and white Karo syrup. Taste is bready malt, pound cake crust, pomegranate flavor and tartness, hints of amaretto/almond extract and faint caramel with a note of alcohol not detectable in the nose. It finishes more sweet than bitter but transitions to an stringent, bitter bite in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium-heavy bodied with a nice carbonation bite that goes down well but I wouldn't call it smooth. Pomegrantate becomes more prominent as the brew warms in both the nose and the mouth but is more prominent in the mouth throughout. Different and very interesting. But more interesting than exceptional!

22 oz bottle.
Poured with an attractive clear copper colored body topped by a semi-durable, bone-colored head.
The aroma is quite fruity. The flavor is sweet and fruity upfront but quickly transitions to a lightly bitter-sweet blend of pomegranate, hop and malt flavors. Excellent balance of these three components.
Very smooth, medium-full body with well set carbonation.

I got a bomber bottle for a steal of a price, so I figured hey lets give it a shot .
I figured well the Pomegranate is healthy for you and the 8% alcohol should have a little kick .
It was okay all the way around, but a little lite for my heavy and dark taste buds .I only gave it a 3, but some may find this surprisingly good if that's your palate .
It was a bargain , so I may buy a couple more and let them sit for awhile ;)

You get a mixture of copper and light orange colors in this one, plenty of pomegranate haze going through it. Aroma is nice and mildly fruity and sweet. Not really anything in the way of yeast, hops or malt coming through though.

Taste is a real sweet like fruit beer. That really is the grand takeaway from this beer, some dark fruit sweetness instead of the usual bitterness. Brown and crystal malt underneath it all. Bomber format, ugh, would not bang again.

Pours a dark amber color with a light tan head. The initial taste is sweet with a dry after taste.

L: Pours hazy reddish amber under a 1” sudsy white foam collar with moderate cling. S: Rich malt and fruit aromas. T: Pomegranate and malt are kept from the edge of the abyss by a proper dose of hop bitterness. F: Medium body and carbonation. O: An interesting refreshing beer.
