L: Pours hazy reddish amber under a 1” sudsy white foam collar with moderate cling. S: Rich malt and fruit aromas. T: Pomegranate and malt are kept from the edge of the abyss by a proper dose of hop bitterness. F: Medium body and carbonation. O: An interesting refreshing beer.

Enjoyed from the 22 oz bottle in a snifter. This unique ale pours a brilliant amber with tinges of red to it, a medium head of off white foam that dissipates to a medium layer and solid ring with nice lacing. Nose of light fruit, mainly citrus, rich caramel, and light hops. Flavors of light pomegranate and caramel malts dance about a moderately hopped ale with herbal notes coming through on the back. Smooth yet crisp mouth feel is decently carbonated with a slightly dry and moderately tart finish finish. Having eaten pomegranate I doubt the flavor could be any stronger, that said this is a moderately hoppy amber ale with said juice which makes it unique unto itself. Very nice during the hot summer months.

Cheers

On-tap 4/10/2015 at Track 84, in Warwick, RI served in a snifter glass.

A: The beer is a deep amber color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is faint but contains pomegranate, caramelized malts, some other fruits and a touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of pomegranate, caramel and other fruits. Then a hearty but not too heavy malt character comes in. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a just a mediocre beer.

I've had a few beers from the "He'Brew" line, and I remember them being fairly pleasant. But this year, something has gone wrong. It pours with practically no head, and a general lack of carbonation. Besides this, the taste most resembles Old Speckled Hen - which is not something I pay craft prices for.

Overall, a bitter disappointment.

Bought at Central Market in Fort Worth, Texas. Transported back to Oklahoma via Amtrak. Enjoyed tonight poured from a bomber bottle into a pint glass.

Pours a lovely clear dark amber with a giant off-white head.

Subtle malty aroma.

Flavor is rich and malty. The pomegranate plays second place to the malts but that is ok because this beer works for me. A nice balance between fruity notes, rich and sweet malt and lingering hoppy bitterness. This one starts sweet and ends dry.

Also the fruit comes out more as it warms up. I'm picking up some ripe peaches and spices as it warms.

Nice smooth mouthfeel.

I'm probably biased (I'm bireligiously Jewish) but I like this beer. L'Chaim!
