Tried this in a 22 oz bomber, the last one apparently at our local TotalWine. No date on bottle. The appearance is an attractive clear red orange without sediment. Aroma of floral hops, vanilla, but little else evident. Surprisingly little complexity in the flavor profile also with hop bitterness, some malt but no real fruit or other tastes to extend the interest. Vanilla again with a burning hop bitterness and some pepper late. The mouthfeel is thinner than optimal with no piney, resiny character. Overall I expected more from the makers of Lenny's RIPA which is one of my favorites. Perhaps this is an older bottle as they are apparently discontinuing this ale?

Thanks to Cavie for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma is fairly straightforward, with some nice tropical fruit notes and some bread from the malt. The flavor is a lot more complex. I get some nice grapefruit and orange notes up front, with some pineapple coming through a little bit later. I also get some grass and swe floral and perfume notes from the hops, as well as a little bit of candy sweetness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Cloudy orange color, filmy head. Smells like iced tea which to me usually indicates its old, shit. Taste is mostly malts, no hops. I suspected when I got home that this was broken out of the holiday pack and resold. Dammit. I guess this is what I get for buying an undated IPA. Drainpour...

Amber blonde with a creamy, lumpy ivory head that leaves pretty lace on the glass. Classic C-hop aroma with a strong blast of Munich malt grain. A strange brew to my taste buds but not bad, powerful malty brew with nice aromatic hop flavor that would lend itself to a less aggessive malt backbone IMO. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. A near miss for me but enjoyable in an unusaul beer kind of way.

12oz bottle, pours tangerine with a thin, white head that dissipates rather quickly but does leave some lace on the glass. Aromas are very pleasant, consisting of mango, pineapple, and floral hops. Tastes are just pungent with an abundance of up-front hops, grapefruit, mango, pine, that all punish the palate and don't let much of the malt character through. Mouth-feel is thin to medium with sharp astringency that finishes completely bitter. Overall, this was not in balance at all. The aroma was the best part of this one. It wasn't the worst IPA ever by any means, but I wouldn't recommend picking this up.

Review from notes at World of Beer - Fort Myers on 11/20/11.
Poured on draft into a shaker pint.
Appearance: Pours a hazy golden caramel with a 1-2 finger thick snow white head. Excellent lacing.
Smell: Sweet citrus with a touch of lemon and lightly sweet malt.
Taste: Sweet citrus and lemon peel up front followed by pale malt in the middle before ending with nice fruity hops at the finish. Aftertaste is bittersweet and light.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with good carbonation.
Drinkability: High drinkability. You could have a few without much difficulty.
Overall: Good beer overall. A very solid IPA that is worth trying.

12 oz. bottle purchased locally as a single. No date on bottle. Poured into Duvel tulip glass.
A: Quite cloudy dark amber, with very short foam that drops quickly and leaves a ring and surface slick of off-white bubbles.
S: Sweet caramel & fruit; floral; resinous pine;
T: Mostly sweet caramel at first; grassy w/ pepper & some very slight citrus fruit; long build of moderate bitterness, especially in the throat; alcohol is well masked.
M: Medium body and low carbonation; slick, resinous feel; slight heat; neutral finish.
O: This is quite likely well past its prime. Sweet malt and bitter hops prevail. Simple. I'll be interested to try a more recent batch.

Picked up a couple singles at 1.99 a piece to try this brewery out. Dry hopped with Cascade and Centennial hops, 65 IBUs. Poured into my snifter.
The brew appears a light-medium copper hue. Slightly on the orange-red side of the spectrum, under a good cap of froath which retains well. Good lacing, the kind with lots of bubbles. The lace looks like swiss cheese.
The nose: Pineapple, Mango, ripe melons, hint of orange, peachy, wild flowers. This nose is packing a big punch of many different aromas..I can't even concentrate on one because each sniff something else is bringing something new. Grapefruit just hit me, with pine/herb notes.
Taste: The flavors certainly follow the nose with pineapple/mango dominating the start, which instantly mellows out mid-way with a clash of Vienna and Munich malts. Ends with a pleasant taste of grapefruit, grass, and wild flowers. Very bright flavors, very tasty.
Mouthfeel is creamy, coats the palate and is medium bodied. I don't see any carbonation rising..which is why it is so smooth. However I would not mind a bit more of a bite.
Overall this is a good brew I'd recommend to someone who likes their sweet fruit. Cantolopes just hit me. I am enjoying this and wouldn't mind grabbing a 6 to put back if I saw one. A bottled on date would be nice but I doubt this is much older than 1-2 months. The aromas and flavors are completly vibrant and pungent.
