Poured a dark brown with a half-finger off-white head. Looks nice. Scents of chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla. Very appealing scent. Flavors of rich malt sweetness, cinnamon, some cocoa and slight vanilla on the finish. A nice combination of dessert flavors. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Easy to drink, and not too heavy. This is a pretty good beer, nice flavor, good nose, glad I got a bottle.

Good looking brown body that glows red in direct light. Level two fingers of highly whipped light beige froth.

Nose is dominated by cinnamon. Hints of cocoa.

Light malt beginning. Then huge amounts of cinnamon. Very faint hints of cocoa and vanilla.

Mouthfeel is nicely smooth. With this much spice, sometimes a beer is dusty.

This beer needs more of he vanilla and cocoa, and either less cinnamon or a stout base instead of a brown ale.

Poured into an impy nonic a deep dark chesnut brown with a amber tinge,a thinner but well retained light beige head atop.I was really taken back at the lack of aromas to this beer,I picked up some earthiness and mild bitter chocolate, that was the most dissapointing part of this beer.Vanilla really stands out in the palate with bitter chocolate underneath, some cinnamon and earth finish it out.Last year's beer was great, this is a little uninspiring,it's not horrible but it lacks depth in the aromas and the flavors to me.

Appearance: A moderate, very dense cream-colored head surmounts a clear, dark amber body. The lacing is utterly glass-coating, with quite good head retention.

Aroma: Fairly intense aroma of brown sugar and bitter cocoa., vanilla, toasted malt, and oak. The high ABV does not manifest itself in the aroma.

Taste: Opens with an abundance of moderately bitter cocoa and vanilla. As the taste progresses, dark bread notes, cinnamon, cold coffee, and warming alcohol appear. There is also a persistent wood note, which is reminiscent of French oak. The finish consists of a long, lingering note of bitter cocoa and vanilla, with a moderate herbal hop presence.

Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, and full, with a bit of champagne-like carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: Quite nice and very drinkable, would pair well with chocolate-based desserts. Also a pleasing winter-style ale.

Presentation: Packaged in a standard twenty-two ounce brown glass bomber bottle, with a pry-off crown served in a standard New Belgium brewing chalice.

Sourcing: Purchased at Spec's in Texas for $6.99 on 03/22/2013.

Dark brown, clear, with a full, thick, lightly-tan head. The aroma is of nutty, brown malt and grain. At first I didn't get the vanilla that is claimed to be in this beer (on the label). However, it pokes out very faintly after half a glass. The taste is brown and a little sugary...brown sugar...with some chocolate and a little underlying spice. Full in body with a little herbal hops in the background. Wonderful.

22 oz bottle. Pours brown with ruby highlights and a medium pillowy brown head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is roasted chocolate with some cinnamon and sweet floral vanilla.

The flavor is nutty roasted malts with lots of cinnamon and slight chocolate and a medium bitter finish. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and pretty watery.

Overall, interesting but the flavors didn't really come together for me - a bit of an acidic mess.

interesting aroma, spicy. Brown, Bubbly head, lacey. Big Cinnamon beer. Nuts, chocolate and roast. Maybe some tweaking and a different night. Decent drinkability, decent brown. Average mouthfeel. Expecting more abv from Shmaltz.
Another fun Radek bottle.
