From old, undated notes. Poured from the bottle.
Dark brown, nearly black liquid.
Nice off-white head; a thick curtain of lace.
Cinnamon nose; strong but not overpowering.
Medium mouthfeel; bordering on thin but not watery.
Taste? Utter delight. The cinnamon gives way to cocoa, which sounds heavy but due to the mouthfeel tastes like tiramisu.
Words fail me; one of the best beers I've ever had. I was depressed when my glass was empty. A rare collaboration that clicks on every level.

From notes 2/7/13: Pours a hazy deep brown with ruby hints when held to the light. The pour produces 1.5 fingers of moderately lasting, light tan, frothy head that leaves thin streaks and motes of lace. Aroma is cinnamon spice, vanilla, toasted malt, roasted nuts and milk chocolate. Taste is cinnamon forward backed by sweet vanilla, chocolate and roasted malts with a bitterness in the finish and aftertaste that is perhaps more spice, charred malt and alcohol related than coming from the hops. The spice is heavy, the malt medium and the hops undetectable unless related to the mysterious bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, medium carbonation, peppery, dry and lively. I'd say that this is what I would expect a hybrid or blend of brown ale, dry stout and holiday spice beer to be.

Pours a dark brown with a finger of fluffy bubbles that leave plenty of lacing behind. As one might expect, this is now smelling a bit past its prime... I get some vanilla and malt, but also some mustiness and a wee hint of butyric acid that is pretty off-putting for the style and additives. If I push past the bile, the first flavors I get are chocolate malt balls and almond extract. Quite sweet up front, but this fades to the background with later sips, which start to rediscover the ghost of cinnamon past, alongside a bit of tobacco and leather. Not worth holding onto any longer, but an interesting ageing experiment.

Dark brown color, 1/4" of tan head with decent retention and spotty lacing.
Smells of tobacco, coffee, and vanilla. Light spices.
Sweet and chocolatey, cinnamon, spices, and tobacco in the finish.
Mouthfeel is a little thin, light carbonation.
A decent beer with nice flavor, but lacks in mouthfeel.
