I had never heard if the place, but i was getting ready to drive home and decided to google search craft beer shops in Delaware and thats when i came across this place. I didnt know what to expect, but when i walked in and Primus was playing on vinyl i instantly fell in love. I didnt get a chance to drink a beer there, but they did have alot of good beers on draft. They had a really good selection of beers that i dont see very often/ havent seen in awhile as well as an awesome selection of single bottles. The two guys working were super nice and im planning on making another trip down there soon.

I stopped in without ever hearing of this place. My friend convinced me to go after meeting at Staas Brewing around the block. Boy, was I glad I went. As I walked up I thought it was just a home brew/ bottle shop. I walked in around 7:30p on a Saturday evening. There was a bar in the place, and they were playing bar trivia. I walked up to the bar. It was made with bottle caps as the surface. I thought it was cool because I am saving caps for a friend with the same idea. I think they had about eight beers on tap. I saw Hopslam and quit looking. I did see a Seventh Son listing.

I took my draft and started perusing the beers in numerous glass coolers and on shelves. I was only after Hi-Res and Hopslam. I walked away with Black Ops, Celebration, Sucks, and Hi-Res. They sold out of Hopslam bottles, but I was happy to have it on draft while looking.

I checked out the home brewing area to discover a nice selection of glassware for $4.50 and below. I saw a goblet and chalice I wanted. I also discovered that for a measly $0.75 corking fee you can drink anything that is sold in the store. Now I will warn that the prices are a little high to begin with.

I liked this store because it is in Delaware, so beers that sell out in Columbus in a day are still on the shelves at this little gem. The only problem I had was that you need to watch the dates. The Celebration I picked up was from 2012. That is my fault for not looking. Luckily I only picked up a single in a mix four pack.

I loved the fact that I can have a beer and shop for beer. It is a cool little shop that I will hit up again the next time I am in the area.

They have moved to their new location and made some big changes. They now have two large walk in coolers instead of the cabinet types they had. With the new coolers they now have select cold six packs and still have single bottles of every bottle they carry. It looks like they carry more beer than before. Prices have remained the same which is a little higher than state minimum, but hey, you can make 100 mix six packs and still not cover everything. They also added 12 tap handles and now carry growlers. They only fill their own growlers, but don't gouge on the price. There are still families that come in so there are kids, but they normally stay in the designated kids area. No food, but you can bring anything in. Overall the move was positive.

A great find. I always thought this was just a homebrew store. 1808 mentioned that they had much much more than homebrew supplies. They have about 10 coolers with single bottles separated by style for mix and matches. Price is written on the bottles. Easily about the best selection in Central Ohio. They also offer 7-8 beer on draft for growlers and they mentioned they were in the process of getting half growlers as well for sale. They also have regular 6 packs and cases and beers as well.

I think you can by a pint to drink there but I am not sure. My ride was waiting so I only had about 10 minutes to get some single bottles.

Is worth driving to if you are in the Columbus area.

Found on the Beer Advocate listing for stores in Ohio and I found heaven in a store right off 23. Right on the corner... when I walked in I was greeted ( by owners I believe ) and they gave me a quick rundown of the setup. Styles separated by cooler, 500+ labels available. Can make a pick 6 of beers available in the coolers. Had a TV with soccer on. Was also given suggestions of beers they will be getting in the near future for stout/IPA lovers. Wine and home brew supplies also available. Will be going back for sure on a monthly basis.

This is a great addition to downtown Delaware and a great place to find an extensive selection of US and international beer. The owner(s) were extremely knowledgeable and steered me to some great selections. There are several shelves and multiple coolers packed with a diverse selection of beer. Notably, Belgian beers were well represented as were beers from Germany and other European countries. There is also a great selection of US craft beer. It's well worth the drive to Delaware if you're looking for fine beer and a professional staff.

Barley Hopsters is located on the corner of Sandusky St and Winter St, and is very noticeable with a stack of cans in one window, and brew supplies in the other. Upon entering you will notice the store has beer, wine, and brew supplies. The wine selection is not nearly as broad as the beer selection, but they do have wine tastings once in awhile. There are about 8 coolers with a full variety of beers including bells, founders, full sail, columbus brewing, great lakes, elevator brewing, sierra nevada, young's, murphy's, and many more (including some macros). The owner is very friendly and knows a good deal about the beers, and loves to talk about all the goings on in the beer world. The home brew supplies are somewhat extensive, with a good selection of yeast, malt, and hops. Also available are other supplies like caps, pots, glass and plastic containers, and other brewing needs. The prices are somewhat competitive, if you buy by the case you get the beer cheaper. Definitely a store worth checking out, a great place to get micros in the area.
