When it comes to draft selection, this place is unparalleled. In fact, it has THE largest draft beer selection in the entire US, for a grocery store. Yes, THE ENTIRE US. Last time I went, they had over 90 beers. It's a bit overwhelming at first, but once you get your bearings, it's amazing. Tons of local stuff, as well as regionals, and country wide. I don't remember any foreign or macros. Bottle selection is very impressive for a grocery store, even for most berr stores, but not what you can get at CBX. Staff was present and willing to help. Just wish there was a site you could go to, to see an updated list of their offerings.

This Piggly Wiggly is really a beer store that happens to sell some groceries. Kidding aside, the beer selection here is amazing. Last I checked there were over 80 (eighty!) beers on tap. They carry so much beer that there are six packs, singles and bombers scattered throughout the store.

Richard (the store operator and resident hop head) keeps a great mix of local brews, regionals, and Europeans on the growler station(s). He loves to talk beer, and doesn't mind giving his opinion of one brew over another.

Stopped here on my first night in town, a Sunday, so everything else was closed. It's a grocery store, so I don't know how nice the atmosphere should be, but it was fine.

This place does have the largest selection I've seen in a grocery store. Mostly regional and large microbrews. Make your own sixer, a lot are doing this now, but they have a comparable selection to a good Total Wine. Large selection of growler options, wasn't sure how to go about filling one, so I passed. It looks like you can literally just grab one and fill it up. Many local options here, pretty reasonable prices.

If I lived in Charleston I would stop here for my regular buying, the Exchange for the rarities or special occassions.

Piggly Wiggly is a locally-owned grocery store on James Island in Charleston, South Carolina. They have a phenomenal beer selection that is THE BEST in the city! A lot of places say that they have 2,000 beers....but if you go there and look at the selection,...they may HAVE 2,000 beers but the beers are triple -or- quadruple faced, showing the same selection multiple times.

The store manager at Piggly Wiggly, Richard Easterby, has taken out a section of slow-selling wines and replaced that with a large selection of American Craft Beers. He has beers from all over the country in addition to a vast selection of imports.

There are two really cool specialty sections to enjoy as well. In a section that is called, "Make Your Own 6-pack", you can choose from a huge selection of single Craft beers.
In addition to that, the James Island Piggly Wiggly, has a section devoted to a growler station with about 8 beers always on tap. You can bring a growler in and just buy the beer -or- you can by a growler for only $5 and reuse it over and over again. I don't know about you, but I have never been in a GROCERY store with either of these options!

Keep it up, Richard! You are doing a great job!
