a Swiss micro owned by an American brewing california styled beers ... interesting to start with ....

this sample is copper/bronce colored, elegant bubbles and pours with a very firm foamy head

the nose is rather malty, with smoky notes (ham)

the palate is full bodied rather heavy, hints of orange zest, an initial unpleasant bitter taste of caper somewhat astonishingly turns slightly treacly over time ...

conclusion: personally I prefer bitters or IPA's to APA's, but nevertheless this brew is indeed promising ... when in Switzerland you should try it ....

500 ml bottle from supermarket in Bern, Switzerland

Pours amber with generous creamy off-white head, patchy lacing. Aroma is malt, caramel, hints of citrus.

Taste is earthy, citrusy hops with solid malty background, caramel, bits of spice, light citrus fruit. Dry finish and long lasting sweetish and bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium/full with moderate carbonation.

Nice APA. But not very drinkable, it seems that slightly dusty and the very dry aftertaste does not encourage to reach for more.

500ml bottle served in a Pint glass.

A: Pours a nice amber clear color forming a medium beige head. Medium retention and some pointy lacings left

S: Strong caramel and caramel grains upfront. Sweet. Also strong flowery hops. Light notes of roasted malts

T: As the nose. Sweet caramel malts upfront. Notes of roasted malts. Bready and biscuity. Nice hops bitterness. Earthy and bit citrus. In overall a dry and smooth taste

M: Light body. Medium carbonation. Biscuity and bitter aftertaste

O: Good drinkability. Great American style Pale Ale made in Switzerland
