Note: Although the label says "golden ale", I put this under "english bitter" as such style would best describe this brew, however I am not sure whether this is actually brewed in the english bitter style

Color: glossy bronce, strong however not lasting frothing ...

Nose: malty, dark wood with a note of lacquer

Taste: bready, creamy, a hint of licorice, light citric notes with a strong dry bitter aftertaste

in a blind tasting I would put this brew somewhere in the region of Staffordshire or Yorkshire ... creamy in the start turning into a dry refreshing bitterness .... although not truly original, but very well brewed ... a ray of hope for the Swiss beer culture ....

500 ml bottle from Swiss supermarket

Pours golden with frothy slightly off white head, thin patchy lace. Aroma is sweetish malt with hints of honey, fruit and light floral hops.

Taste is crisp grassy and fruity hops with a solid, a bit sweetish malty background, hints of caramel, drying finish with lingering citrus hops aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium with medium/high carbonation.

Very drinkable bitter ale; although the label says California style Golden ale - guess that means Golden ale with US hops, but at the end I would simply classify it as a Bitter ale.

500ml bottle served in a Pint glass.

A: Pours an orange bit cloudy color forming a small beige head. Small retention and lots of lacings formed and left

S: Sweet grains upfront with strong notes of orange zest and spices. Quite fruity. Flowery and earthy hops

T: As the nose. Sweet caramel malts upfront. Quite fruity in the mouth too. Strong notes of orange, limes, orange zest. In overall, a light sweet and smooth ale in the mouth. Perfect hops bitterness balance. Medium and pleasant bitterness

M: Light body. Medium carbonation. Fruity and bitter aftertaste

O: Excellent drinkability. Even better than their APA. I don't think it fits to an English Bitter, it's too spicy and much less "malty" than a Bitter would be. In any case, very pleasant beer, a Swiss masterpiece
