Saxon is gluten free but unfortunately not very good. Poured in a golden yellow-ish colour and with very little foam. The initial smell was of metal followed by the generic dish rag sourness of a macro lager. The taste was watery and a little flat with some sugar too. It was pretty awful and thus bad luck for beer aficionados with gluten allergies.

A: Light golden pour with an airy uneven white head that sinks quickly, leaving decent lacings.

S: Faint smell, a bit corny.

T: Faint taste; corn, artificial, a bit metallic.

M: Almost no aftertaste. Rich carbonation, quite offensive. Thin to medium body.

D: Considering the poor bastards that are gluten-intolerant... For anyone else - avoid!!!

This is a gluten free beer.

The colour is deep gold, the liquid is clear. The foam quickly sinks down to a white airy lid, leaving some lacing.

The smell is neutral. Some mild bread-like malt, hints of yeast and dough. There are some bitter flavours and a mild sourness.

The taste is quite odd. At first, some sweet notes pass quickly. Then sour notes of old dough and a hint of wheat beer emerges. The taste is thin and there is no body at all. The aftertaste is flat with some fruity flavours, sour notes, some sweetness and a touch of alcohol.

The carbonation is average to strong for a pale lager. The liquid is a little thin, too.

This is probably a welcome innovation for those intolerant to gluten. For the rest of us, it is just another dull lager.
