On tap at Bailey's Taproom 7.1 and 7.2 (and probably 7.3:).2010, Christmas in July. Thanks Geof for stashing this keg!
One finger light tan head, very slow dissipation with significant lacing. Cloudy reddish amber body. Nose is pretty malty, caramel balanced by spicy noble pine hop notes. This is no entry level IPA, big in every way, huge resiny middle with caramel malts, and bitter finish. Mouthfeel is smooth, medium full, a bit sticky.
Much of the character of the bottled version already reviewed, but I thought the malt backbone was more prominent in this 'aged' tap version. Spicy hops still the boss, and to be honest I could drink this all night long. IMHO this is the best beer Lompoc brews, and one of the PNW best DIPAs, I wish they did this year around. Can't wait for the winter holidays! This is a really good beer.

Bottle from New Seasons Market. Dark amber, small foamy head. Big meaty malty aroma. Taste too goes straight for the malts, huge leathery, musty pipe tobacco. Dry, gentle bitterness finishes this.

Dark, reddish amber in color. Hazy, with a tan head. Streak lacing. The aroma is fruit, spice and bread malt. The flavor is pine, citrus and some caramel malt. There are some herbal and spice qualities as well as hints of fruit. I would say the beer is fairly well balanced. It is malty for an IPA. A little bite from the hops and some alcohol vapor hits your nostrils in the finish. Decent, but not my favorite holiday brew.

From a 22 oz bottle into a glass: deep amber color, mostly transparent. Lacy head of foam; the right amount of carbonation for this style. Hops on the nose. Taste wise, there must be spruce tips in here. Otherwise a ton of hops and a malty backbone. Perfect for an imperial IPA in my opinion, and extra special in that there are the spruce tips in addition to everything to everything going on with an imperial IPA. Love it!

Bomber courtesy of Daune...thanks bud!
Amber colored with a short lived head and minor splotching
Smell is very subdued and extremely doughy...cinnamon bread and spice
Taste is all over the board and really discombobulated. Holiday spicing, tons of gingerbread like malt, weird cloying sweetness in the middle that rides through to the end that leaves a slightly rotten fruit taste. Hops are around but buried and not really all that pleasant.
This really isn't all that good.

22 oz bomber bought at Roth’s Sunnyslope Market in S.Salem. $5.49 Cold and snowy evening hope this helps! Slightly hazed amber coloured beer in the glass, with a nice looking large creamy/thick eggshell white head. Very prominent aromas, deep rich chocolate fudge maltiness balanced by huge spruce and resinous hop.Impressive. Taste is similar to the nose very luxuriant and ends with a nice long lasting dark chocolate style bitterness. Good mouth feel..lowish carbonation and smooth. I really liked this one. I like the maltier IIPAs so this suited me.

Served on tap into a shaker glass.
A- Poured a reddish color with an off-white frothy head that left chunky lace.
S- Sweet caramel, cherry, and pine notes.
T- Lots of sweet caramel, some pine, and cherry. Finished with a very mild bitterness, very malt forward and sweet.
M- Prickly carbonation, dry finish, some warming.
O- Definitely the most malt forward DIPA I have ever had with lots of sweetness and not too much hop character.
