220z bomber in a standard pint glass.

A- Rich mahogany color; 1f mocha tan head, fluffy. Lots of sticky lacing.

S- Sugary roast malt. Licorice, chocolate, molasses. Creamy mocha latte. Lightly smoked, just right. A hop touch.

T-Smoked malts, roast coffee, chocolate. Purple fruits.

M- Medium body, good carbonation. Creamy. Smokey finish. Earthy resins.

O- Very good smoked beer. 6.9% abv is well hidden by flavors and aromas.

New Old Lompoc Brewery - LSD (Lompoc Strong Draft) on tap at a local watering hole, pint glass.

Look - Pours a thin dark brown black with reddish hue and minimal/negligible head. Chunky lacing.

Smell - Sweet and roasted malt. Vanilla, malt chocolate, dates and maybe even prunes. Aroma is hard to gather in the pint glass but it's obvious that it is quite complex.

Taste - Slightly creamy with carbonation, sweet chocolate, some roasted coffee and malt, along with deep dark fruit. Some hops but being a hop-head this is a barely noticeable aspect to me.

Mouthfeel - Sticky and medium-bodied. No booziness present. Quite drinkable for the style (if you can fit it into a style). Slight hop bitter and toasted sticky malts.

Overall - The most interesting brew categorized into this style I have had and overall one of the most interesting brews I have had overall. It is almost like a hazelnutty dessert beer. Definitely recommend for those looking to try something different.

Poured from a bomber into a true pint, the beer is a dark, vibrant, ruby-tinged dark mahogany coloring with a filmy, slim, light tan colored head. Aromas of milk chocolate, fig, cream/milk, and roasted highlights. Very rich and smooth nose. Flavors of roasted coffee and mocha initially, with a bitter hops undertone and a rich, tangy, smoked caramel highlight. Very balanced, with a subtle warmth that builds as you drink. Creamy hazelnut and mocha aftertaste, with a slight bitterness. Solid brew. Bitter, slightly cloying linger to the finish. Very easy to drink.

Poured into a Dogfish Head pint glass. Pours a dark chestnut brown with a one finger light tan head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of toasted malt, nuts and a hint of dark dried fruit. Flavor is toasted malt, hint of chocolate and smoke and dark dried fruit, ending a bit abruptly to a long lasting charred malt and hop bitterness. Medium bodied. Leans towards being a hoppy brown ale. The flavors are pleasant, but something is missing in the finish, most likely a bit more malt support for the lightly smokey toastiness. Interesting and different, but needs some more intensity.

Poured from a bomber into a pint glass in high elevation Libby, Mont. Reviewed live.

A- Two finger mocha head, fluffy lacing and large bubbles. Decent retention. Dark brown, Coca-Cola color.

S- Chocolate and roast malts. Cocoa nibs, deep rich chocolate notes. Vanilla notes as well.

T- Boozy, weird hoppiness and sweet malts. Bitter, piney hops. Very strange beer.

M- Thick, sharp and rolls on the back of the tongue.

O- Odd beer, the taste is peculiar. It is like a nut brown and an IPA mixed together.
