This is the perfect neighborhood bar. Always have 15 or more craft beer choices. DJ is the best bartender in the area and the food is awesome having taken grilled cheese sandwiches to the next level.

Great beer, great food, great service!

ViWhen you pull up, if you've not been. You may think you've pulled up to a biker bar..or question whether you should be going in. When you get inside, the interior does little to dissuade this opinion. It does however, have the unique ability to attract those of all walks of life.. from those looking to get a few cheap beers with his buddies..to the beer geek traveled far to try something unique and different.

The draft beer selection is amazing! More than anywhere else I can find (locally). The only downfall is that they don't give you a paper with the selections for the day on it..you have to be within sight of one of their chalkboards (one inside, one out) or get up and go look at it. I had to do so right next to a family trying to enjoy their meal and felt pretty awkward.

For food, this place is kind of known for their grilled cheese..get one on your visit!

Everyone I had been served by in my 2 to 3 visits here has been pretty knowledgeable and able to answer almost any question I had about just about any beer they were offering

This review comes after one visit. I travel a lot and usually don't form an opinion worth publishing until I've made several visits. Not in this case however. Dive doesn't begin to describe this establishment. It is everything I would want in a bar to cater to the widest of demographics. The only downside is that I live over 1000 miles away.
The clientele is a mixture of white and blue collars sharing common interests and laughs.
Being my first time here, I only have one food item to review. The menu is extensive but I narrowed in on the grilled cheese selections. Wow. I had the whiskey brisket grilled cheese. Holy crap was it Awsome. What an imagination to put these ingredients together. Spinach? Who woulda thunk?
As packed as it was the service was good. My glass was never empty for more than 1 minute.
Rochele was Awsome. Very knowledgable in beers, breweries and brewmasters. She's a treat to talk to.
Place has easy access from highway and has ample Parking. Oh yea. It has a shit load of great beers too!

Have been drinking here for a while, Railroad has a great selection of Craft Beer that is constanly rotating so you can always find something new and interesting to drink. They also have the areas best selection of Gourmet Grilled Cheese and Burgers, and if you are looking for a Burger make sure and give the "DFB" a try.

Great selection of draft craft beer with frequent and seasonal changes. Staff is fairly knowledgeable of beer; the ones bar are better than than servers working the tables.

Great menu of comfort bar food. Dozens of grilled cheese sandwiches that also rotate with the season. For example, the wife had the turkey dinner grilled cheese tonight - loved it.

Atmosphere is a unique combination of traditional bar and family friendly restaurant; not many places can pull this off well but the Grill does. They also have a great game and pinball room right off the main bar. Combination of classic games and new ones.

Great place to have a good beer and make the whole family happy. It fills up quickly, which is amazing since it seems to be deliberately hidden in an obscure location.

Great hidden gem here. The bar is pretty generic, nothing fancy going on, but it's got that gritty charm to it. Though they should nix the crappy Top 40 crap music, and at least replace it with some classic rock, which would fit in much better for a place like this. Nice medium-to-large bar, and plenty of leg room and table space. There are also a few classic arcade games around, which is nice. A TV around every turn for you sports fans.

The beer selection was pretty excellent. Some macros, and a nice craft spread, which, on my first visit, included some great IPAs. How often do you see Pliny, HF Edward, Sculpin, Devil Dancer, and Deviant Dale all in the same place? ... Outside of a major city bar at least, which this definitely is not.

Service was just fine. Our bartender seemed like a great guy with lots of experience, and when he was busy with other patrons, another girl popped up right in his place for backup.

Food is nothing fancy, but the menu is massive and loaded with great options. How can you not love an entire page filled with about 25 grilled cheese sandwich choices???

This is a great place, and I hope to revisit soon. It's about 25-30 miles from where I live, but well worth the trip.

Stopped in here during a mini limerick bar crawl after hitting up Craft Ale House. Railroad Street bar and Grille is right next to the railroad, that's for sure. Pulling up to this place, this has elements of the Hulmeville Inn/Union Jacks on the Manatawny and that place where John Candy ate that huge steak in the movie the great outdoors. Pretty plain looking and alot of neons in the window.

Inside it's fairly plain as well. Light wood and signs all over the place. There is alot to take in. Bar area seats fifteen or so, I noticed a bunch of taps up there. Seating areas are kind of all over the place and there are a few pool tables as well as a vintage arcade machine(Please turn down the volume on that machine please, it's fairly annoying.)

there is alot of beer here. It reminds me of Hulmeville's list because half the taps are crap, but the other half are sweet. I did notice another chalkboard full of good beer so there is alot of selection. Some locals, some West Coast, varying styles, and some Belgians. They even had Mystreechs Acht(Sp?) which is pretty balsy of a bar to put on as it's mad obscure.

I Did not try the food but the kitchen seemed to be turning out a good amount of dishes.

I ordered up two sculpins which said it came in a pint and I was given a 10oz pour. I addressed this to the tender and he said "Oh that, I charged you half price for the drafts. From the list that said $5.25 a pint I got 10 back from giving a 20. Hardly half if you ask me or maybe they are just bad at math here. Just a minor scratch for me, hey 5.25 for 10oz's ain't all that bad either for the area.

I have to say, Im not a fan of the decor here and it comes off mad plain, im thinking this spot has been here a bit under different guises.

What I do like is the selection. What I like even more is the manager. I did not meet him, but I saw him talking to some customers asking for Hoegaarden. He said that Railroad does not carry Hoegaarden, but he offered some solid craft choices and they bit on one of them. He used a great approach and I was impressed.

(I grade on a sliding scale for bars, so I'll update if I return)

You mean that place? The old Linfield Hotel? Are you serious? Yes. Off the main road and despite a few signs you won't find it unless you are looking for it, 38 taps. All but maybe five of them were craft. We couldn't believe that in Linfield of all places we had pints of Hill Farmstead Edward. As the others have said, it's a neighborhood kind of place and "almost dive" is apt. But it's friendly with very good service. Very good bar food, too. Well worth a stop. We pass through Linfield on our way to Craft Ale but will now have visit both.

Stopped in for dinner with my wife since it's only about 5 minutes away and I've heard it has a good selection. It's a total neighborhood place, bordering on a dive bar, but the servers and bartenders are friendly and don;t make you feel like an outsider.

The tap list was outstanding! I enjoyed Coronado Idiot IPA and Ballast Point Tongue Buckler. They also had Avery Oak Aged Samael, Holy Moses, and Founders Curmudgeon on draft among others. Great bottle list too - saw Mad Elf, CBS, and lots of good stuff from Bells, Russian River, etc... The food was decent and they have large pub style menu. Very inexpensive as well - we got out of there for $45 after an app, two entrees, two beers and two glasses of wine.

I like this place. It's an actual bar with character and the beer list is no joke. Check it out.

Visited the Rail several years ago and felt it was too much of a biker bar, went in again recently and WOW!!! what a change.... Mike has completely transformed the bar to a top notch beer bar serving a super wide selection of all craft and import beers in bottles and like twelve taps. On a recent visit decided to have dinner, what a menu, the food was outstanding and very reasonable, the wait staff was couteous and atentive and the menu was extensive and top notch. Mike has stocked the fridge with one of the largest selections of craft beers and is constantly on the cutting edge of all new products. I also found out that his sole supplier changed to Frank Smith Beverages and that may be a large reason for the additonal quality offerings.
