Sampled on tap at the brewpub in early May 2010.

The beer pours a very clear yellow color with a large white head. The aroma is noble hops with some pilsner malt. Smells like your basic Czech pilsner. The flavor is spicy hops with a nice malt quality. Low bitterness and an earthy hop finish. Medium-high carbonation and a medium mouthfeel.

Pint glass with dinner at the NXNW brewpub.

This Bohemian Pilsner is a beauty to behold, and it shows a crystal clear, brassy-straw body. The head is eggshell creme in color and leaves behind sticky residue of lace along the inside of the pint. A healthy carbonation level keeps the foam well-retained, and churns up aromas of crackery pilsner malt and lots of hops. Very fresh American varieties of hops in this beer--herbal and piny with hints of citrus peel.

Light mouthfeel, well-carbonated body with a crisp finish. A cask version of Bohemain Pilsner the brewpub had on tap a few weeks ago was dry-hopped, and this beer certainly tastes like that as well. The hops are soapy and green, and add a distinctive American bite to an otherwise mild style. However in doing so, the crackery malts are almost completely overshadowed. As a "harvest pilsner" this would work, but there still needs to be more of a balance to keep me coming back for more.
