Had this on tap at Lucille's BBQ in Las Vegas.

Appearance: copper in color with a 2" head that slowly fell. Some spots of lace developed.

Smell: light malt and fruit sweetness are all that is detectable.

Taste: decent malt backbone with some ripe fruit sweetness and mild bitterness. Nothing complicated here.

Mouthfeel: slightly crisp throughout. Medium bodied beer. Very brief sweet aftertaste.

Drinkability: easy to consume this one and it did go pretty well with BBQ food.

Reviewed live. 5.3%. Acquired at Hi-Time Liquor in Costa Mesa, California. 12 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap served into a De Molen beer stemflute.

A: Pours a two finger head of decent cream and thickness, and good retention. Colour is a semitransparent dark amber.

Sm: Light toasted malt and maybe some cream is all me broken nose picks up. A mild strength aroma.

T: A toasted malt foundation with a bit of cream. Some mild amber hops. Very boring, bland, and simple. Imbalanced, empty - especially in the second act, and built kind of shoddily for the style. Pleasant but uninspired.

Mf: Smooth and wet, with some coarseness on the climax from the toasted malt. A touch overcarbonated. Moderate weight on the palate - a bit too heavy methinks.

Dr: Drinkable but unremarkable and boring. An uninspired take on the amber style. I wouldn't get this again, nor would I recommend it - even to fans of the style.

Easily drinkable this has decent flavor and a smooth aftertaste. Not too heavy and holds up against heavy food pairings.

Medium brown color. Medium head. Aroma is malty and slightly nutty. A medium bodied amber. Malts are nutty and slightly sweet. Hops are fairly bitter. Well balanced. Very drinkable. Nice but nothing special. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

The best of the Bayhawk brews I've tried thus far. Pours a (wait for it) ... amber ... color with a minimal white head. Head vanished quickly.

Earthy malty tones and a nice aftertaste of grapefruit hop bitterness provided some balance. At this point, this is the only beer from them I'd be happy to re-order. Went well with Monday Night football. Mouthfeel was characteristically thin (all the beers seem to have the same consistency) but it was more palatable with this style.

*I've since had this a few more times, and bumping the score a tad. It's a good session beer, and easily the best they offer.
