Notes: Entente Cordiale represents a rare truce between the French and English. This English-style Barleywine Ale has been aged in French Cognac barrels, marrying the best of both worlds. Ugandan vanilla beans, orange peel, and cocoa nibs add further depth.

750mL bottled purchased at The Garage. 15.00. Released 12/16/17. Served in a Monday Night snifter. Enjoyed 12/19/17.

Pours a dark, ruby tinted brown with a finger and a half cap of beige foam. The head recedes to just a few thin wisps across the surface and a narrow crown, leaving only sparse dots and trails of lacing.

Aromas of oranges, cognac, caramel, vanilla, cereal, wet wood and maybe a hint of dark fruit. Interesting and enjoyable.

Tastes of orange creamcicle, vanilla, mild dark fruit, faint cocoa, honey, cereal grains, oak, leather and damp earth but almost no alcohol presence. This goes down smooth and drinks with an ease that belies it's 13% abv.

Pillowy, medium full body with lightly fluffy carbonation. Cognac caramel glazed orange cream cake pleases the palate in the finish.

Monday Night obviously has a hardcore big beer side to them that hasn't always been apparent in their flagships. This is kind of like Drafty Kilt's great grandfather. A huge, sweet, malty, complex delight for the senses. In only it's first couple months open The Garage is already cranking out some fantastic beer and I'm looking forward to enjoying many more in the years to come.
