Notes: Set yourself adrift with Beyond the Clouds, our newest bottle release from the Garage. We inoculated this India Pale Ale with three different strains of Brettanomyces. Combined with the base liquid, this wild yeast produces vivid flavors of pineapple. These flavors are kicked up to stratospheric levels after interacting with our Citra and Mosaic dry hop addition. Coming in at 6.3% ABV, Beyond the Clouds is a quaffable liquid to experience just as the seasons are starting to change.

Light hazy yellow color. Notes of funk and pineapple and honeydew. Very unique hop profile complemented by the Brett yeast bringing the funk. Strong pineapple flavor on finish as well.

500mL bottle from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 9.69. No apparent bottling date but this was just released in the past week. Served in a Monday Night snifter. Enjoyed 1/30/18.

Pours a hazy pale yellow with three full fingers of fluffy white head. The thin haze and full crown that remain once the initial froth subsides leave huge sheets of lacing all around the glass.

Smells of peach, melon, soft Brett, grass, old fruit, dull lemon and a little bit of cake-like malt.

The flavors are a complicated mixture of bitter, earthy, juicy, mildly funky Brett and hops. Bitter grass, peach skin, honeydew, old mandarins, dry hay, earthy Brett, faint pineapple rind and a little cake. A whole lot going on and its delicious.

Fluffy medium body with pillowy carbonation. Earthy and bitter finish with notes of stone fruit, melon and hay.

Another pleasing release from Monday Night’s Garage. Beyond The Clouds is a different sort of Brett IPA. The variety of Brett and hops used brings a depth to the style that I’ve not encountered before. I’m not sure that I’ll have the patience to let the Brett develop in the second bottle I acquired.

Look: The pillow-y, white head is very impressive. Retained throughout drinking. Light gold body, hazy, not entirely opaque.
Smell: Orange peel, some bubblegum. Fainted saison-like yeast but not prominent.
Taste: Citrus forward: grapefruit, candied citrus, chalky sweet yeast (not a bad thing),
Feel: Medium bodied. Could definitely throw a few of these back.
Overall: Great offering from Monday night. Would love to stuff this away and see if it developed any differently over some time.
