Don’t even know how to grade this one. First half of the drinking experience was absolutely phenomenal. The fruity and funky and sharp aromas, the wonderful citrus, funky, bready and yeasty flavor notes. But as it warms the funk starts to overwhelm, to a point of unpleasantness. Grading wise I’ll go with the first half experience, but warning to others: drink it quick and cold.

Poured into a snifter. A hazy golden-amber color with a small white head. Big Bretty aroma. Funk along with pineapple and lemon. The taste was astonishing - the brightest pineapple I have experienced. Counterbalanced with bitter fruity hops. Dry finishing. Delicious.

500mL bottle from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 12.99. Bottled 08/2018. Served in a Monday Night snifter. Enjoyed 9/4/18.

Pours a muted, pale , hazy orange with a finger and a half cap of white head. The foam recedes to a narrow perimeter and a few small surface wisps.

Smells of oranges, pineapple, tangerine, peaches, melon, berries, lemon and a little malt sweetness. This is so incredibly fruity that I can’t keep my nose away from the glass.

There is a much more assertive sour flavor than the nose had prepared me for. Sour nectarines, lemon zest, peach pits, funky orange peel, earthy pineapple core, lime and a little bit of old crusty bread. There’s a significant sharp bite of Brett with every sip but this is still young enough that the wild yeast contributes more fruit notes than funky earth. Delightful layers of flavor.

Medium body with moderately smooth carbonation. The finish is funky and tropical with both hop and Brett character on display.

Happy seventh birthday Monday Night! Tie Seven On seems to be a play on their previous six hop/ 6 Brett IPA (Beyond The Clouds) and it works well.
